Opinions on Vp cvd's ?

I am thinking about buying the VP version 2. Wraith cvd's. I've read on the website, that you need to drill out the standaard 12mm hexes. Is that really neccesairy? I don't want to risk to drill and ruin the hexes. Otherwise i think i am better with version 1 :-s

I have metal axial hexes.

Those hexes will be easy to drill, even if you did mess one up they are super cheap to replace.

has anyone had issues trying to mount tires with the version 2? the 5mm nuts clear the slw hub but i can't seem to get a 8mm hex to clear it for mounting the tire.

i keep pulling the pin through the collar! twice in about 5 runs!! wtf!, on my scx10 vvd v2,s these new collars have 3 positions to but them back together, but is that why there weak? any help whould be cool thx

Okay, placed 3rd in my local comp today because of another broken VP cvd, what's up guys?? Today was a complete explosion of the outer shaft where the cvd area is. I have my endpoints adjusted lower than full operating range just to help longevity, there was no binding anywhere, and I was not even at full throttle or off suddenly to cause problems.. Cant say I'm that happy. Are the v2s any better or bigger, or is it just the stub that is larger? I have 300s but fitment is an issue in your vp scx housings. The first time I had a failure was the cup broke where the pin goes through, snapped the outer portion off...Any feedback, or am I suppose to just buy another axle and wait for it to happen again.?

Re: Vp wraith xr10 cvds released

I want to say that Steve will take care of the problems you may have with their products. His response to my issue guaranteed that I will continue to purchase and promote his products. Very few times does any company wow me with customer service and support, Steve did. He went above what I was expecting to make sure I was taken care of. I understand that anything mechanical can and will break expecially when you consider what we do with these vehicles, in a 1:1 world parts would not hold up to what we do with these little rigs. Vanquish has been at the lead in producing parts that work and are reliable just like every other industry there is a learning curve. So let's support a company that is willing to take the next step and try something new and innovative. If a customer supports a company, the company will support the customer.

I have the original VP CVD's, not sure what they were named but they were the first ones. No problems yet, but what are the differences between what I have and the newest ones? IE is it worth the upgrade? Running 3S BL, 21 turn motor for now, but maybe the 3100k tekin roc soon.

I've been running VVDs in an SCX-10 and Wraith, both with ROC 412 3100s and 3S (just switched to HH), for almost 2 years with no issues. If it ain't broke... "thumbsup"
