You mentioned super thin delrin under the tubes... you can get delrin "pipe" that will fit snugly on the tubes. That works pretty well.

The coolest little trick I have found for sliding is from a clothes dryer. Many of them have these little rectangular tabs that the drum spins against. They are super slick and slightly flexible. I cut and stuck one to the bottom of each of my gearcases, then tapered the ends with a dremmel to remove the edges. 8) Oh.... yeah... better than delrin "thumbsup"

Those skids look great "thumbsup"
How did you get them to stay on though

X2... got to know... what did you use. It looks very clean"thumbsup"

Thanks Guys......

It's nothing special
Just some of that 3M "Clear" Double sided Tape
But, the trick to getting a good stick is to clean
both surface's with Denatured alcohol before applying
the tape ;-)

Tip:
Warm up your metal parts with a heat gun before sticking
the skids to them

Because of the denatured alcohol, once your parts are stuck
They wont come off unless you pry them off using a screwdriver ;-)

I used to use that route...the thickness added hurts too much.

Best bet is to buy some BWD motor savers (way better than anything I've tried...and cheap to boot). Then use teflon chassis protector...much thinner.

Hope to see you in a week!

My Truck on the Rocks for the first time !!!!

Well......
You were right "binaryterror" "thumbsup"
The home made skids made it slide off the rocks too much
It seems you need the Aluminum to hook on the rocks to drive your line ;-)

Had a GREAT time hanging with the "MiRcA" club.........

Some Video of XJFarmer driving my rig....
Had a bolt from a rear shock come out but Farmer managed to finish the course anyway

I ended up using some dense Memory Foam I had laying around ;-)
These Tires are sick....Thanks again

----------------------------------------------------------------------

So I've been messing around with external limiters (Spacers) on my shock shafts.
I use a 6mm spacer & 2 "0" rings for limitation, giving me 8mm of limitation.
but I didn't really like the look of them plus they slide up and down the shaft during articulation so I got to thinking

KYOSHO makes a shorter shock casing #W5196V that are aprox 8mm shorter.
So when used with the long stroke shaft (46mm) would give me a 8mm
internal limit on the out side....

But using the shorter casing's makes the shock to short so I ground off the
pivot ball end and drilled it out to be able to use a Rod end ;-)
This now makes the shock the same length as the original shock "thumbsup"

I am making some Brass caps for the rod ends instead of the plastic stock ones ;-)
(I dont trust the plastic caps to hold up after drilling them out)

I also turned down the shock casings to get rid of the unused thread and polished them
