On-board sound system..... Speakers? Bluetooth?

I'm looking at adding some speakers to my 1.9 rig. Only issue is that space is tight and would like to find something that's bluetooth compatible so I don't have to mount one of my iPods into the rig too. I want it to sound decent a few feet away. I have a little battery powered speaker that my kid uses for his iPod but it's size isn't feasible to be transplanted into the scaler, especially since I'd have to mount an iPod too.

I've looked around, not a lot but a bit, and haven't found anything small enough for my needs. I have about 3"x3"x2"(LxWxH) space to work with. I might be able to go a bit more if needed.

I don't mind having to buy a speaker setup that needs to be disassembled and relocate the speakers into some styrene made boxes but the Bluetooth part is over my head.

Radio shack used to sell a small 1w amplifier that runs off of a 9v battery.

I would say a small mp3 player + amp + small speaker = what you want.

I've thought of this as well. I was thinking about trying the ear buds mounted into the door, but I don't think it would give you the kind of range that you are looking for.

Here are the ones you originally asked about 4 1/8 long 1 7/8 high 7/8 deep. My buddy is finishing up the interior in the ftoy so I don't have the dimensions on the tube speakers. Now that I put these in the back of the stock bed I may be able to work it into the new bed after I see what the rules state. Now that I'm playing with it, who says it has to be inside the cab. Pic 3 is wedged under the bed but will need a way to mount the mp3 separate from the speakers which I'm sure they make a cable instead of mounting direct.

I think that is going to be the perfect size for my needs. I'll have to disassemble the thing and build some small speaker boxes to fit it in my rig but it would work great. Thanks for the pictures!!

smith makes a blue tooth set up for ski helmets, i had a set and they work really nice. should be able to find them on ebay. you could keep your mp3 player in your pocket and mount up the speakers in to the truck.

You can try and dismantle a bluetooth head-set. You can try to rewire the ear piece to an actual ipod speaker and still be able to connect it to your iphone. I am pretty sure you can add a better battery to it too"thumbsup" Its worth a try and shouldn't cost much.

This would be the easiest hack without doing your own amp from scratch, certainly the first idea in my head.

I put a mp3 player on my Honcho . It has a built in speaker and is just loud enough . Not to loud that it is not scale . Ask anyone I run with they love it . You can hear it and the sound is good .

5 below has orb bluetooth speakers, and you can pull them apart and use that, and the charge usually last an hour and a half or so. u could make a small sub boc for the speaker and run it like that.

i have used one of those water resistant wal mart round speakers with the hook for a shower....and fit it inside a mounted spare tire lol. it was loud and easy to remove. inused it alot. dummo where it is now
