No Brainer BEC

The wiring harness on the No Brainer doesn't feed power to the receiver but that's okay because the ESC's built in BEC should be able to handle that.

So on my Holmes Hobbies BRXL where is says to unhook the red wire if using a BEC I would not have to do that?

That's correct.

Something else to consider: I think the BEC built into the BRXL is better than the one used in my No Brainer.
That isn't to say that the No Brainer is useless, it can still be helpful if you want to offload the work from the ESC's BEC.

Got one today will be putting it in a ax10 using ,spektrum, ae2, hitec mg 5955tg ,,Thank you ,,,Robert "thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup"

nice product again Al,
I am sure I would like to try this No Brainer BEC. will send u pm when I ready "thumbsup" but I will need 6V or 7.4V

Have to update my photo of the product. Will try and do that later today.
Now I can offer them with a ten turn pot for adjusting the voltage.

I like this but I only have 1 question. Why does the plug that goes into the reciever still have a power "red" wire? I can understand black to ground the servo to the reciever but why still have a power wire? Is it a "dead" wire?

Excellent question!

Yes it is a dead wire and I should update that picture. The circuit board has changed too.

Now I cut it off right at the receiver connector.

I will make a point of replacing that photo soon.

Thanks,
Al

The first post is updated, but might as well show the picture here too.

Just built this for a customer:

DualChannelNoBrainerBEC_zpsd893646d.jpg

He wanted both his winch and steering servo to be fed from the new BEC and wanted the ESC to continue taking care of the power that the receiver uses. He chose to solder the BEC's power input wires to the ESC's power input wires.

Sweet!"thumbsup"..Just to comfirm;Could this be used to power both front and rear servos on my crawler?.. I am using two 7954 (7.4v) on my 4 way steering rig8)..I will check back tmr after work..Thanks

One more question..What are the dimensions of the 10 turn pot thing.Or can you just set them at 7.4 before shipping them out,and does it make for a smaller footprint if done the latter way?.Hope i'm making sense, kinda hungover still:mrgreen:..Thanks again

Yes, this BEC would work fine for running your 4WS or any two servos that you wanted to dedicate their own BEC to running.

The ten turn pot does add a little bulk, but not much. I can preset the voltage to 7.4 before shipping "thumbsup"
