Nitro 4-link

Hey everyone,
I have an old Mad Force and I've always wanted to make it a 4-link. I would love to make it a crawler but I know that's not happening with a nitro without some SERIOUS drivetrain work. I like the 3-speed and wheelies and love bashing with this truck. I've just think 4-links are totally cool.

So now that the Twin Force and Kruiser are out it's great to see a resurrgence in interest in the Mad Force axles. However, it looks like all you electric guys are shortening the axles and running 2.2 tires.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a converted Twin/Mad Force that has a 4-link with stock wheelbase, axle length, and wheels? I'd really like to see how they did it and what parts they used and what they had to build from scratch.

PS, how do I post pictures? I have an old Thunder Tiger .21 motor from my first gen Associated MGT in my Mad Force. I had to do some serious mods to the motor mounts and clutch assembly to get it to fit but it runs like crazy. I think I'm the only person to ever put that engine in a Mad Force because it is a true PITA. But I was too cheap to buy an OS when I had that engine sitting in my toolbox. Let me know how to post pics and I'll show y'all.

sounds like and easy enough build. if you like the stock chassis WB length it should be pretty easy to get a 4 link system going.

i am going to be running 4 link on my super with the stock chassis. take a look at the link in my sig to see how i have the links set up. the WB is longer than stock, but that is easy to change. just cut the links shorts.

mj, after looking at the link for your SCT i'm assuming you've seen the infamous Thorbob project? It might be a little old for that anymore, it's been 5 years since he disappeared. Do you have any idea what I'm talking about? I still have the pictures from his old website saved on my computer. I've you haven't seen them I'll try to post a few. I don't know if I'm allowed though since they aren't my pictures.

yeah, i completely know about the thorbob project, its actually talked about in that thread. :) that guy did a spectacular job on his rig too. much better than what i did.

as long as you give credit to thorbob, i don't have a problem with it, just don't go around saying its yours, just about everyone on the net has seen that thing now. its too bad that guy moved on to other things in life and couldnt continue that build.

Converting to 4 link really isn't all that difficult. My very first conversion was 100% home brew. But it held up to a thrashing. Click my name and go to the stats tab and look through threads started by me. It's in there some where WAY back:wink:

This isn't my first version but this one took some serious beatings.
