Just picked up the kit an preparing to build. I have a CC 1406 2850kv sensored motor and a CC Mamba X ESC that I was planning on using in this rig. Have the same set up in other crawlers and am happy with the performance. And of course the kit comes with a 21T brushed motor and an ESC. I primarily will be just be crawling with this rig. With that being said with set up should I go with for the best low and slow performance. I've never we used brushed motor so don know what to expect. Thanks.

Brushed motors will give you better low speed control, I myself prefer brushed motors. As far as the best in LSC I'd recommend a Holmes Hobbies Crawlmaster Expert 12t 5 slot armature pair that with your Mamba X esc in brushed mode or grab the Hobbywing 1080.

Check out these vids from John Holmes of Holmes Hobbies, he compares brushed /brushless low speed control and torque.

John installs a brushless out runner in his TRX4 in this clip.

I run a HW 1080 & HH 27t. Great combo. Very slow in lo range but still has good wheel speed in hi. I get insane battery times with this combo compared to stock. :)

I’ve ran mine with stock motor/esc and on 3s lipo for the last 7-8 months or so. Just installed a Mamba X / slate 2250kv combo and it’s better & smoother in every way.
