Last night I picked up my first real Toy.

It's a 1982 Toyota Pickup 4wd with a few additions. I have been searching for a truck for a couple months. I wanted to get one mainly for use when it snows here in the mountains, but some extra curricular activities couldn't hurt.

It does not currently have any armor, except a small 'bumper' for the winch. So I look at it as a blank canvas. I just haven't fully decided which way I want to take it. I want the bed to be usable as a truck, but also want to protect the body that is in pretty good shape considering it's age.

Current Specs:

· 36” interco tsl swampers
· Chromoly birfield eliminator axle shafts
· Randy’s ring and pinion super joints installed in the axle shafts.
· Trail gear one piece wiper seals in front axle
· Trail gear HD axle seals
· Brand new Webber carburetor
· Brand new winch installed
· Dual transfer cases using a new tg adapter plate
· Twin stick shifter
· Trail gear Cross member/ skid plate with dual tcase mounts.
· Trail gear HD transfer case mount
· New Clutch
· Tg Shackles
· welded front and rear differentials
· Amplifier with ipod hookup running out new 6 ½” speakers
· Trail gear U-bolt flip kits
· New shocks front and rear
· Crossover steering and power steering using a factory pump and ifs box.
· Stainless steel braided brake lines
· Stainless steel hard brake line in the rear
· Ifs width rear axle
· 1 ½” TG wheel spacers on the front
· Valve adjust and new valve cover gasket
· New air filter
· Trail gear shock hoops

You know I will have better pics, but this is the first one I've got. There was a nice storm going through as well.

Looks too nice to beat up. Its getting harder to find nice straight first gens....

Awesome Steven! It's about time you got something to wheel. Looks like it will be a good rig for ya."thumbsup"

Nice looking rig! I dont know how worried about the body Id be considering its cut up pretty good as it is, but it should be pretty capable.

Thanks guys, I can't wait to put it to use. But first it will need some tube.

Very nice!!! So is that your trailer and tow vehicle or are you planning to drive it everywhere you wheel it?

Needs stickers ... and a number

No, that's a U-Haul trailer. It was delivered Friday evening to Knoxville by the previous owner and then I towed it to NC this morning using my dad's suv. Then drove back to K-ville to get my car and now I'm back in NC. It's been a very long day.

My plan is to use it to get to work this winter (only 3 miles). After I save some dough, it will get some diffs better suited for road use, so I can drive to the trails (they are both currently welded).

I was shocked that it actually has paint!

Ha! Yeah, it's too bad they never made it in clear.

I sold my 82 at the beginning of the year:cry: That was another one I regret selling. Love your new one"thumbsup" Is that the same one that was on Pirate for sale?

Is the an OG bruiser body or a current hilux kit. :lmao: it looks like a scaler photoshop'd in. YouR smile is priceless. Can't wait to see more pics in the daylight. Looks nice.

"thumbsup"

Yeah, the lightning is the only reason I posted that pic vs the pic without my ugly mug :).

congrats man,,awesome looking find, and an impressive list to start with...

Thanks, I would have been just as happy with a clean stock 82, but the parts are an added bonus.

Yeah, it was in the For Sale on Pirate.

Awesome rig, I have a built 80 and love it!

Thanks, I've read through your build thread on Pirate and it's one of the reasons I went with an older rig. I love the look of your low stance, with the larger tires. I can't stand the jacked up rigs most rednecks around here drive.

Haha, I might have to get a scaler to match now.

Awesome color!

I'm thinking black or khaki.
I'm not a very flashy person. This thing stands out like a sore thumb.
