Need ideas for my scx10 build!!!!!

Ok thanks I like scale speed and the ability to crawl so you think a 35t motor would be the way to go?

definitely, i here only good news about them, they can give a crawling torque speed, scale driving speed, and enough wheel speed to get up some challenging loose dirt hills, i say 35t all the way.

And you say Novak right? Did you change your esc when you got the motor? Did you change your gearing too? If you did change your gearing what did you change to?

yeah, i got my novak engine about 3 years ago and got the novak rooster speed controller with it also (this was back in the day with scx10 dingo tr which had crap electrics, the stock speed controller lasted 15 mins), i'm running completely stock gearing as i feel it works just fine, these trucks are indestructible if treated correctly, however i have had to replace the internals in the transmission to rrp steel gears as i stripped the plastic ones.

Man Im thinking of the paint job for the body I like black but so many people have that, don't get me wrong it looks great especially yours but I might go with a black and orange mix and then paint the axial beadlocks rings orange as well. I think that sounds killer. The Comanche body doesn't have a drop bed does it? I might be wrong.

black and orange sounds nice, if you are keeping the bumpers on the body i would recommend spraying them silver to make the truck look more scale, the orange bead locks sound nice, you mentioned you were not running ripsaws any more, just curious what you are running, as for your budget, spend it on whatever your truck needs the most, thats what i do when i have some money available, also doing your own mods is good as it is relatively cheap and quite satisfying, to return to your visitor message, i use photobucket.

edit: the body doesn't have a drop bed.

I run 1.9 tsl's like you on axial beadlocks. Well if I get the Comanche I will either make custom bumpers or not run one at all. I need a servo I'm running a traxxas one and it sucks. IMO traxxas sucks at everything. I might get a Hitec 645mg servo. I had another thread posted and ppl said that was a good servo to run on it

I've decided to get the Comanche body for sure. I'm throwing the beater body and black body out the window. I'm think I'll go with black and orange. Then paint my beadlocks orange. I don't need a motor or an esc so that idea will be put on hold. I will probably get bumpers(I like the rc4wd stinger and some sort of a back bumper). Still open to any ideas, so if you have an idea for me it will be greatly appreciated!

Hey guys just wanting to let y'all know I've got $400 but in spending $250 of it on some scx10's. I got some 2.2 mud slingers and axial 2.2 beadlocks for my wraith. I hooked them up and they are sweet! They almost have to much grip! But just giving you guys aheads up that I'm fixing to start this build. Sorry if it takes a while. What about a J10 jeep body it's got a bed on it.

Okay guys I've got an update! It's not much of one though! I have my body, proline jeep Comanche and black paint; I also got a hitec hs-645 mg servo. Not much of an update but progress!

nice job man, looks exactly like how mine did, the proline roof rack doesn't fit the comanche roof, you could put it in the bed though, maybe.
