My super build

I cut you a BTA and you dont use it

I need to work on my Super... all I have left is the rear BTA and hooking everything up (and buying some tires)

I have always ran cut down foam in my supers

Hey now. I'm still contiplating a bta on the front. I like the laydown servo though. Stand up is less room but these servo's are monsters. To get a standard size servo to put out as much torque as these I'd have to drop 100+ each. I still am running a 645 in my 2.2 so these will have to do for now.
Now if ya wanna cut something I can use...I need some adj motor plates, and a motor plate for the 2.2 axial trans lol "thumbsup"

Get that super runnin so there will be at least 2-3 trucks there this year. I havn't heard much about any of the regs building supers.

come over and help with the Jeep and Ill cut what ever you need...

Im planning 1 of those $100 servo's for the front of mine and a 645 for the rear.

I noticed you are still running plastic for the rear tubes, if you want spares you can have the ones I took off.

cool. Yea plastic on he rear. I figured alum in front to withstand impact and smoother plastic in rear to help slide over the rocks on the way down. Idk, Just a thought lol

More progress again tonight. I built the rear servo mount and got it all set up. Had an issue with the ginormous servo hitting the tire at turn but I worked it out. The plastic tubes and integy knuckles are way bigger than the front rc4wd stuff.(thought they were JP but was wrong lol)
Tomorrow I cut some dust covers and maybe try and wittle out a motor plate. idk well see lol "thumbsup"

Wow is all I can really say.

It's alive and man is this thing crazy. I couldn't wait for Matt to bring over my new motor mounts so I rigged up the bolts I have now (long story). I have never driven anything ike this before. Dual esc and stick radio is CRAZY! I have no control over it yet because obviously never driven 4ws before. But I tested it out on my deck and sidewalk just now and I can't wait till tomorrow lol. Matt you gotta come drive this thing. You'll be in the fs section llooking for clod axles so fast it's unreal.
Man, What have I been missing. The only thing I fudged up is when I mounted the body posts and drilled it out I had the chassis backwards. Now all my alum is in the rear. I could just flip the chassis but, This'll give me an excuse to get some alum tubes for the front (already have alum knucks in front) lol

Let me tell ya. Programming sidewinders without a castle link is time consuming. I had to program both since they came from 2 diffrent trucks. 1 was still in brushless mode. Now I have to geta link so I can bump up the bec from default 5.1v to 7.2!
All in all as it sits I have around 400 into it. A great deal if you ask me.!"thumbsup"

55t motors with 8t pinions on 6cell 4200 batt is like a rock racer. I can't even imagine it on a 3cell lipo:shock:....But we will see lol

I will get some pics for ya'll in the morning when it's light out.

Lol, now you see why Jeff and I like supers so much. It's hard to put into words. But, If I had to give 3 C words capability, control and conqourer. With the rear steer, digs, and larger size of the rig you just feel as though you have total control of every rock pile.

Yesterday was the first time on the rocks with my new super.... Made me remeber why I like them soooo much. I love pulling up to a 16" verticle face and driving straight up and over. My guess, with the traction at Busse we will be able to do some amazing things. I am really thinking about switching to 65t's... the 55t's are way too fast if you ask me.

If you want a castle link, come by, I have 2 and only need 1.

Yea, the 55t's are pretty quick. But they also have great low speed control on mine. I might keep them for now. I do have to upgrade wheel adaptors. 10 mins runtime and I've sheared off 2 of the plastic g-made ones. I guess you get what you pay for. The last one nicked the corners of my ttr cvd end. If ythats bad I'm out of commission for a bit. Those things are pricey. lol

edit......Make that 3. But....I just found on ttr's website that they have optional aluminum ends that are only 25 bux for 4! And they come in 3 diffrent sizes. No more adaptors. They come in 12mm, 14mm and 17mm. Score.

Pics as promised.

Keep in mind that there is only 1 coat on the course lol. I have a few more to go to get it perfect. On the course between me screwing up the radio and the few lines available it was awesome. I'm really pushing now to get the course done next weekend so I can play!

What do ya think?

$40 a pop is a bit steep, especially when you figure its just 3 pinions.... I may just have to think something up.

I know that the only thing that's a wheely king on it is it's body. I was just messing around. To bad wheely kings don't come as bad as your super is that you built. I still rather have a super than any other r/c. There bad ass and can stomp over anything. They should of never made small crawlers than supers in my opinion. Anything else is like tinker toys compared to supers. I've always been a monster truck fan though and had 4 hobby grade monster trucks before. To me it's a waste of money to have any size less than a super. Bens truck was bad ass on saturday. I think jeff should of painted his super a different color than his 12.5 stick. I actually thought his old trucks blue was a nicer color than the dark red to his new trucks but oh well to each his own. I can never speak my mind on here without getting into trouble so I'm not coming on here to post anymore. I'll just go chat in a chat room.

Peace.

Yeah If I had the room for these.

That would be the route I would go. Simple to make I know somebody had the Cad file. Uses basic off the shelf parts. The reason I want reduction more then higher turns is the increased drag brake effect the clod so desperately needs.
Why dodn't you have enough room? Curious to know since the pics on the site show it fitting in there quite well. also wouldn't that make it like a 110 turn motor? I think that be killer on torque but way to slow. Have to size down to smaller motors maybe like 35turns.

My super has loads of top end. Really too much for a rig it's size. These reductions would aid low speed control. The main problem I seem to have with my current setup is the stalling effect when trying to creep over rocks. I was brushless last year and that pretty much cured any stalling I had. It was a real advantage as others would putter out and stall axles mine would just rip and roar. The drag brake was more then enough to hold the truck. However, I had no low speed control, pretty much on or off and being outrunners if the can grabbed a rock that axle was instantly shut off. So this year I went back to brushed and picked back up the smoothness of brushed. However, now I have to deal with stalling and poor drag brake again.

The area around my motors is very very very tight. Link clearance prevents the motor from hanging out further. I actually had to cut the majority of the tabs off my endbells to get them to fit. It might be worth modification to get the motor performance though.
