geez syco, you asked for everyone to let you know what they thought about your LIL scooter :lol: so i did!! and if the whole bit of the sportsters being a womens bike pisses you off and you are tired of hearing it, it would be safe to assume that you have heard it elswhere and not just from me. I wont lie but i have never ridden a sportster but they DO have a reputation as being a girls bike!! One of my old buddies had one (yes i gave him $hit too) And he actually got spit on and the other guy said "sell the *****es bike and get a real one) so, you asked for an opinion and i have given one!! so boohoo. lmao and if you are one of those guys who cant take critisism then dont ask for opinions.

What makes it a girl bike? Oh, thats right you "real" Harley guys don't like things that are light, or things that perform decently. You like big bloated line hugging road pigs. My offroad bike is considered a wife bike, I don't care, ride your moto bike, I just won't be tired at the end of the day.

if u want a good dual sport bike... you take a Honda crf450x and get a baja kit for it... he he the crf 450 has just as much or more horse power than the xl600

i like the 883.. maybe it's just me... it's out of my price range and a little small frame size wise tho (at least that's the way it felt to me)

thanks for the input on ds bikes.. i think i prefer the cruisers, i like to have the windshield, saddle bags, sissy bar, etc. plus somehting that will be comfortable for 2 on trips... i had a honda cr 125 and it was a little harsh on the rear end.. but the suspension was set up for more off road so that was probably it

oh, and the ducatti i sat on was the multistrada.. not the monster.. although it felt like one lol

the electraglide, 883 and vsrc (i think) v rod are the only harleys i like (stock).. they vibrate waay too much and are way to loud for my taste.. now if it was from OCC... that would be different.. but still too loud... i know, i know " loud pipes save lives".. the problem is you only really hear the loud pipes from behind..

I was just thinking the XL because it doesnt take anything to make it street legal, and in some states you cant DS an off road bike, they're marked Off Road Use Only on the title, and some states won't over look that.

I can take what is thrown at me and always do but sometimes it stings more than others I never expected to be ragged on here I guess the sportster is a girls bike I mean EVIL KENEVEL rides his sportster all the time even over his big ol road couches.I love the bike more than any other bike I have owened I have also rode a buddys dig twin chopper and didnt like it near as much as the sporty I like a light and nimble bike for playing in the curves but one that has the power down low for when you need it.Sorry for snapping at you cstmp8r you just blind sided me with that one.

I could care less if people ride a girls bike or not.I don't care what people ride either. I am just one that will get along with anyone else with a bike. Just like here on RCC, we are all into the sport of rc's or riding.. What really pisses me off is these asshole harley drivers( or their Fawkin B!tch wives) that like to give ya the thumbs down when you ride past them. Who gives a rats *** what ya ride?

the sad part about that is... me and my buddy went out riding one night. # girls on the back of harleys' gave my buddy a thumbs up and the bird or a thumbs down to me on my CBR. well what the stupid idiots fail to realize is he rides a Honda VTX :lol: :lol: they can't even tell the difference between a harley or a honda. they only know the difference between a harley and a crotchrocket and that probably took them a longggg time of studying :lol:

Good winter time project is to bore and stroke that "little" motor but leave the 883 decals on it. Also lower it 1 1/2 to 2 inches. You will more than make up for the cost of the parts by smoking the rice burners.

Twisted I agree with you,I dont care what you ride as long as you actually do ride the dang thing.I use to get the thumbs down all the time when I had my rocket's but even tho I got the thumbs down I always gave the thumbs up because atlest they were on a bike out enjoying the world and having fun.Old dog I do plan on making it a lil'ol 1200 this winter and was also going to leave the 883 on the tank was also going to put in cam's and a jet kit.I'm getting the drag bars and risers this weekend maybe next paycheck I can get the progressive shocks I want for it to lower it like you said the rear is as low as it willl go right now with the stock shocks.

sportsters are for chicks, 883 is a real weenie bike (sorry man, but it is). V, or street rod would be the only harley i'd let myself get caught on.

And buell needs to get different motors for their bikes.. i rode them all and kept whapping the stupid thing off the rev limiter cause i was waiting for the power, and it never showed up.

i'm going to sell all of my r/c stuff (was getting out anyway) and i should have enough for my shadow aero..

although that might make a good trade-in...
