My first ever build 1980 K5 Blazer

Hey Duxx I was just admiring your new painted body I found on another thread. Somebody called it a Bronco.

Nice looking k5 "thumbsup" whaTs the wheel base sitting at if you dont mind me asking. I used to have a 76 1.1 and had so much fun wheeling it . I may just have to build onne in memory

The build looks sick! Can't wait to see it on the trail.
Thanks
Let me know when you guys go this spring I'll try and make so I can break it in.
Question for you.
How can I join Mid Michigan Crawlers without joining facebook?

Is the new rock rail sturdy? Will it take a few hits from rocks? I have some extra brake line, but I do not think this would hold up as a slider.

This is not small 3/16 brake line this is 5/16 it is not going to bend with the weight of these trucks. I had to use two long handled screw drivers to tweak this to make it level. Very sturdy.

Then you're not driving it hard enough.

I've had some feedback for different tire and wheels so here are some other combinations

I like how the larger tires fill out better but I don't have enough clearance and I don't want to cut the body.
I still need to find some 1.55s with the same height tire that I like I think that's the answer

Agreed, the larger tire looks better but cutting the fender well out is a must if you're gonna run em. You trying to stay with a 1.55 wheel with a 1.9 tire?

1.55 tire and wheel but I need to stay in the 3.6" tire range

I have considered remounting the bumpers higher to move the body up for more clearance but that will show more frame like a body lift.

Took it out today and used it for the first time. My kids got cheap crawlers for easter so we just had to go play. Did ok didn't break anything . It does get hung up more with these little tires then it did with the stock ripsaws.
