Hello

This year "Option No.1" releases Clod Aluminum metal chassis conversion kit.
Then I decided to convert my old vintage Clod to metal chassis.

I bought old Clod in 1987, when I was age-9.

Left metal chassis is which I bought this year.

There are mismatch of Screw hole locations for Battery Holder. Need modification.

Nice. I have a stock clod I built last year drove it twice and put back on the shelf. I have plans for it sooner or later but for now I enjoy looking at it

Also there is insufficient gap to put Motor-cables through receiver plate.

Therefore I cut-off a part.

For 4-link, I bought 4-link kit Servo mount kit from Crawford.

However there was issue. Screw hole for chassis is 4mm, but 4-link kit's Pillow ball hole is 3mm.
I don't know how everyone solved.

I prepared 4mm to 3mm conversion screw.

And, drilled hole for suspension holder.

Crawford's servo holder couldn't fit well. Therefore I prepared Eagle's holder.

For rear axle, I prepared servo reverser.

Stock suspension, Speed controller are replaced.
OK, metal conversion has been done!

Next step is body making.
I bought Super Clod body, but I re-used Chevrolet front grille and tail gate from old Clod.
Using TAMIYA LACQUER THINNER, I removed color and cleaned. Then re-painted here.

For tail lamp, I bought AMPro's Tail Light Lenses and Housings.

Option No.1 also has an original body post for conversion kit. Bridge part is metal, but posts are plastic.
I decided to modify it to stealth mount.
I bought Neodymium magnet in 1-coin shop and Stealth mount kit in Amazon.

However I found the body post is a little thick. I ground and cut it to fit the mount.

I don't have a driver figure, therefore I just borrowed my daughter 1/12 girl figure.
It almost fit to Killerbody Bucket Seat size.

Instead of stock tinted plastic window, I used RC4WD clear lexan window.
For lights, BEC 6V is used for LEDs.

I also modified Rollbar lights with RC4WD KC HiLiTES Light Set as follows:

I need to buy lenses but out of stock...

Last item is sticker.
I bought replica sticker (made in Canada?) of vintage clod. But skin color of Guy is not good.
Fortunately I kept a part of original sticker more than 30years (below of photo image), I used it.

I put it.

Sweet build! There certainly aren't enough Clod builds these days.

Did you get those decals from MCI Racing? I've found their replica decals to be junk as well.

that thing is sweet. I yelled at my buddy because he just threw away enough parts to make 2 full clods and a few spares left over.
