 I sit here writing this with tears in my eyes! Jordon had a very bad night coughing and with dry heaves. So we took him to the vet to get a shot or some pills to help! The vet wanted to take some X-rays because he was thinking he may have more than just a cough. His heart rate was over 200, He said come back in an hour. When we got back they put us in the conference room. I knew this wasn't good. When the vet came in he asked us to look the x-rays, He said "I have only seen this twice before. To make a long story short Jordon had a tear in stomach wall between his heart, and his bowls and some organs had move up around his heart and lungs. He was 11 years old and a 105 pound dog and we had three options.
A very hard surgery for him, medication to treat the symptoms but not problem or put him down! We have always considered quality of life over our selfish needs to keep our pet around as long as posible to make us happy. At 70 this was a harder decision for me than ever before. Some of you that have met him know how great a friend he was. He spent every hour that I was in my shop with me, my shadow. I'm not sure how I will work out there again. Enough, Jordon we will miss you!:cry::cry:

Ernie and Marcia... I am so absolutely sorry for what you're enduring right now. I know that there are no words that will make this time in your lives any less painful. Please don't ever dismiss what a wonderful life your buddy had... simply because he was part of such a loving and compassionate home. Rest In Peace, Jordon.

That sucks. They aren't pets, they're another family member. Sorry for y'alls loss, my condolences.

We're fully with you. We just lost our 15 year old German Short Hair Pointer... Mr. Romeo. Although our situation wasn't quite like yours were can sympathise with your loss. Our pointer was a huge part of my life, in fact many would say he was my icon.

Sorry for your loss; and may he rest in peace!

X2 Ernie and Marcia, we’ve been there too many times, condolences and you made the proper decision for Jordon, prayers with y’all. :(

Sometimes the very best, kindest and most loving thing we can do for these wonderful pets we have. Is to let them go, ease the suffering.

Take the time to morn, look ahead knowing there is another waiting to have you as their dad and care taker. Brighter days are ahead.

Have cats myself, loved and lost them my whole life, and grateful for each.

They sure do connect without every saying a word.

Ernie and Marcia, I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing such an amazing family member is hard. I know that was a extremely hard decision for you to make, but it was the best decision for him. Our pets are family members and sometimes we have to do what's right for them since they can't tell us themselves. Even when deep down it's not something we want to do. Keep your head up brother. Jordon wouldn't want you to morn his death. He'd want you to celebrate his life. I know with the huge hearts you and Marcia have that it was a great one. He wouldn't want his passing to stop you from doing the things you love to do. He's with you all the time now just in spirit instead of physically. Stay strong! Lots of love and hugs flowing from your FL family. If I can do anything to help. Please don't hesitate to get hold of me. He will always be with you in your heads and in your hearts. Much love!

You have my condolences, I've been down that road a few times and it never gets easier, pets are truly family members that love you unconditionally every day. I have two elderly dogs now and they are both healthy at the moment but I know it's only a matter of time. Enjoy the good memories of your buddy, I still get teary eyed thinking of former pets but I always think of the good times I had with them.

So sad Ernie.... I hate this.
I have a 14 year old and a12 year old...I’ve had to put down two in the last two years...old dogs rule, keep them close to your heart and love them as long as you can...rest in peace Jordan...may your heart find peace Ernie and Marcia.

My condolences Ernie and Marcia. Pets are family, sometimes even better than family. Hope you find some time to remember all the good and all the smiles your furry best friend brought to your life. Thinking of you today.

So very sorry.

We had to say goodbye to our pup a couple months ago. This always hurts like hell, if you are a good pet-parent this is no way to avoid it. Other than the grief of losing a member of the family, the worst part of all of this is the agonizing over when it is time for them to take the journey. I was eternally grateful that Dargo let us know when it was time, it sounds like you pup was the same way.

I feel your pain and offer you my sincere condolences.

Out pups are like children to many of us.

I lost 3 of my pups over a 2 year span with the last passing about a year ago.

Had them for 18, 16, and 15 years.

The two older pups (Missy and Sugerbear) where sisters from the same parents porn two years apart and passed exactly 1 week apart (both from cancer).

Lost my Mallory about 16 months later to old age.

I cried like a baby and miss them everyday since.

It’s a sad day indeed when you lose a good dog, hurts like hell for a long time, so sorry to hear about this Ernie.

My mates loved my dog too, so we had a wake for him down in the shed one evening, a few beers, radio on. The radio station was taking calls and one of my mates requested pink Floyd, wish you were here. I had been holding it together, but when that song came on the radio it brought me undone
