MTHead's Toyrunner

It also works om ABS. Those are the rings I was ask you about, nice work.

Good to know! I'm sorry to say I don't remember the conversation about them but if there is something I can do for you now just hit me with a PM. "thumbsup"

The aluminum truggy was set up that way and it was way floppy, sucks for climbing to.

Good progress so far John...makes me want to build something...maybe when it cools down. :ror:

Ya, no SHIT!! Where's the damn monsoons? :lmao:

I need to go on the hunt for some good 80mm shocks then or a smoother pair to cut down. I'll have to put them on the outside of the axle tabs to run straight up in to the wells, then figure out the mounts as the frame is still a good 5/16" narrower then the well on each side.

Easy way out for smoother shock I can cut down. I think they are for the SCX10?

and Brian if you need something to do there is always the D90 that needs building? :ror::ror:

John, once again great build "thumbsup"

Thanks man, how's it been going up there?

you can do what I did with my H3 with those.

I just didn't want to cut those till I had proof of concept

I can do without the freaking dust storms though, still cleaning the pool after the last one! :x:x

That looks like it would work out pretty damn good just cutting the tubes down.

Send the D90 over, I need something to tweak on for a while. "thumbsup"

Loving the new rings. Where's everybody snagging the black axial 1.9's these days?

I can't speak for anyone else but I plan on painting the stockers...

oh by the way - THIS RIG ROCKS!! I can't wait to see what it looks like finished.

How well do you think the windshield frame will hold up to some abuse?

Knowing you you'll just make something 10x cooler anyway :ror:

Maybe a machined delrin shock hoop that reaches into the frame since it's narrower then the well walls?

Need to find an anodizer and have the Rex's re-done  Also, going on 2 months waiting for one ARB diff cover from RC3WD

Thanks!

Painted them, I'm trying the Rustoleum High Temp paint to see if it sticks to the chrome better. I picked this up on a Tuner forum as they have been using it to paint the insides of their chrome headlight buckets. In the non-reflective area's of course. :ror:

Question is, will I break it off just building the rig? I plan to have a cage right behind it to limit it's flex backwards, forward is a different story.

Ordering my shock bodies now, I want to get that done before moving on with the cab work that way the only thing I have to worry about interfering with the body is the transmission.

Oh, yes, shafts... Ok, that just sounds wrong.. :ror:

Brian, I have a extra ARB cover for the t-rex 60 axles...LMK if that will work for you. Its all yours if it will, just send me a PM with your address.

WTF Delvin?? You gunna send Brian a diff cover when he doesn't even have a rig, that's a great start to a build?? :lmao::lmao:

I'm John and will gladly take it, YGPM

I gots parts form TCS!

I thought you were sending me the D90 John... ;-) :ror:

Thanks Devlin I'll shoot you my addy. "thumbsup" :ror:

MThead - you have provided the inspiration I needed. I know exesivefire is going to eventually do a H3 slantback or truck and I needed something different but p4x4 didn't provide a lot of ideas.

More material will have to come off around the window frame, sides, and rear corners...I just couldn't find my dremel last night so I made rough cuts with a saw :lmao:

Anyone interested in building me a cage?

You have no idea how close I was to doing that, I was going to leave the doors intact like a jk though

Sweet, I have a Hummer build idea I want to do but it's gunna have to wait till this and the TTC are done.

I do however like those H3's and shopped around for one but bombed out, I'd start PM'ing the vendors that do tube work (R2J, MG200 @tw!ll, Dinky and surely The DMG) and see what they can do for you.

Got the shock parts on order and hopefully I can squeeze in some time this weekend to make the rear mounts, gots tons to do and it ain't even on my own rigs. :ror:
I fricking forgot to order a sheet of styrene though when I place the delrin order. Dammit!

YEa, cool!, finally a yota with the top cut off
want to see this one finished

That makes two of us.. :ror:

Finally got some time to move forward, installed the Hand Bro's CMS kit and cleaned up the front axle, started re-doing the rear shock setup.

I got the body height where I wanted it, balancing between tire clearance, visible chassis, and spur.

Just enough for rock rails to hide.

Got a bit of spur peeking out but hopefully the seats will help block the interior hump from the side shot.

After that did a bunch of measuring, and found out the 90mm shocks will fit after all
Off to the mill we went..

Nothing fancy but tall enough to fit the shocks, wide enough to fit the wheel wells.

I need to find my .234" cutter so I can spotface the back if them and press locknuts into the delrin since the mount sits flush against the well wall.

WIDE

Next will be the transmission, thinking I'll try a 80/14 combination, little motor mount trimming and it should reach, I know a 78/14 wont :ror:
