MSD UTE build: The Blue Lux

Finally got a chance to get this truck out on the rocks today, the suspension is set up nice and soft and it tucks the tires nicely. It could use a BEC but otherwise I was happy with the performance

Re: MSD UTE build: The Blue Lux *shake down run 7/24*

Wow, Geat build, amazing work. If I wasn't on an RC sight and hadn't gone through several pages of this incredible build you couldn't have told me the second to last picture wasn't a 1:1.

Considering the weight factor and how scale I made it it does work surprisingly well. It wouldn't hold up against a scx10 in a scale comp or anything but for trail riding around it really does seem to work well. I just need to try and stuff a BEC in it somewhere or maybe just get a stronger servo.

Re: MSD UTE build: The Blue Lux *shake down run 7/24*

Wow, this truck is still amazing. Love the scale shots at the beach, I need to take mine down to the one around here soon.

Re: MSD UTE build: The Blue Lux *shake down run 7/24*

Those wheels look so right on there. Except for being all shiny of course.
Still love this rig! "thumbsup"

I agree Chris, I was thinking I could hit them with some scotch bright to dull them down some, then maybe add a tiny bit of rust to make them like chrome is finishing is rusting like it would on the real steal wheels

Re: MSD UTE build: The Blue Lux *shake down run 7/24*

Love the new wheels! And the build...every time I see it, I just drool."thumbsup"

Re: MSD UTE build: The Blue Lux *shake down run 7/24*

Mate I just read through your entire build up of this rig your attention to detail is amazing nice work mate now I'm going to have to search for any of your other build ups

Re: MSD UTE build: The Blue Lux *shake down run 7/24*

This rig got my "best of show" vote at ECSC 2013. Simply amazing Mike."thumbsup"

Thanks Rick!

There was a lot of competition in the class one class, between Rich's, Matt's, and Andy's set up it wasn't an easy choice for anyone to pick.

I'm just glad the Subarux took best of show for class 2

They are the gear head ENK wheels available at RPP Hobby. Unfortunately I couldn't use them on the truck because they rubbed the front brake and caliper set up :x
