Motorama U.S. Indoor RC Rockcrawling Challenge (Feb 20-21, 2010)

I want to thank WPaC and all the people that made this event such a success. On behalf of myself and all the members of SVSC, we really appreciate all the hard work you guys did to make some great crawling courses and for allowing our club to run the scale crawling demonstration. We had spectators watching the scale runs all day and well over 100 people got a chance to actually run an Axial TR truck on the course. A young boy from the Harrisburg area was the winner of the raffle truck (an axial tr). He's probably still grinning from ear to ear.

Thanks again to all the members of WPaC, the sponsors, the competitors, and Motorama for putting on a good show. We had a great time and look forward to helping out again next year.

Steve Gilbert
SVSC President

I can't even begin to express my gratitude to all who were responsible for making this event happen. I got to put alot of faces with names and build some cool friendships with great people. I cannot wait to do this again. I have to give a big thanks to:

Hostile Hobby and Hidden Hanger's awesome hookup on my rc needs.
Futaba for the First class 4PK radio system.
Y-Town Crawlers for the killer chassis.
VP for the Sweet SLW3 wheels.
Holmes Hobbies for great motors.

One thing I thought to add......I have done a ton of r/c racing and met a lot of "pro" or "national level" drivers. Most of those driver's were very "cliquey" and were basic a-holes to the club level drivers, either not willing to help or didn't really care to. This was my first large scale crawling event I have attended. I have to say it was a pleasure to meet guys like DelMonte, SDScustomz, Gatekeeper and all of the other top drivers that attended the event. Everyone was cool as hell and willing to help other competitors in any way and step to help with the event also. I hope it stays this way because it made Motorama one of the best events I have ever attended............"thumbsup"

Thanks for all your help. It was nice working with ya on this one.

I'm actually a little sad to see our winter series end cause I've really enjoyed crawling with you and the WNYRCRC crew. Hopefully, we can come up to one of your comps and/or have you come to one of ours.

Big thank you to the people and sponsors that made this comp possible. It was great to meet everyone and put faces with names. I had a blast.

Big thank you to,

CRSMacgyver for the help in keeping me calm, the team work this weekend and making the trip up and back with me.

T1E for the best chassis on the market. If you are not running 1 you should be.

Anderson R/C for any part I need when I need it. If you need any r/c stuff give Matt Anderson a call. www.andersonr-c.com

Thanks guys! John and crew put on an awesome event. It was a blast meeting all of you and I will definitely come back when I get the opportunity "thumbsup"

I still can't believe how big the Motorama show is. I've never been so completely lost inside a building before  I was also really impressed with the sponsors that stepped up for the raffle and prizes.

Anyway, I'm finally home from an epic journey through O'hare International... stupid snow. I'll get some pics up tonight.

If you had a tour guide that knew where he was going it would have been a little less painful...

Next year I am bringing a Segway...

It was great meeting and talking with you...

Next year will be bigger and better!!!!

It was great to finally meet the Rockcrawler with Vowels...

In about 6 months, I will be starting this over again... Time for some decompression...

not just newbie infant learning to crawl

I learned more in the first hour at that comp than I did searching these forums and wondering the web. I should have come in dead last but only finished second to last. Better that I could have hoped! Everyone was great. So many 2.2's I may have nightmares for weeks. Great job everyone. Way bigger than last year. Sooooo many Rocks, so much mud. The only solution I can see to the long venu on the first day is MORE ROCKS! See you all next year.
