LOL, now that I see it's 2 hours each way I'm positive I'm not going down there. Can't afford the gas for a 230-240 mile round trip.

Who's ready for G6????

Looks like a little precipitation will fall but it's going to be a blast.

If you get there and no one is at the hut just off the county road we are back in the woods and well be back shortly.

Not going to make it to this event. Have to take the dogs to the vet instead, I hope you guys have fun. The weather looks like it's going to be alright. Hope you waterproofed everything.

Dana, Derek and I are just coming thru Cannon Falls. Weather report looks good, batteries charged, rigs gone thru, full can of bug spray, it's gonna be a great day! "thumbsup"

Here's a few pics from today.

What an awesome day of wheelin'!

AWESOME, I SAY!!!!!

The weather cooperated and once we got into the trees it was dang near perfect. The courses were tough (thanks Dana, Bill, Derek, and Josh!) but doable, with help from teammates.

I took The Beast and Clyde and broke both! I finished both G6 courses but Clyde broke one stock knuckle during the U4, on the next to next to last lap. Then, 50' from the truck for the ride home, I nailed a tree with the Beast at WOT in high gear, popping a rod end. The only bad thing about today was that it was too short!

Great day today as always. No matter what, a day out on the trails like this is a WIN for everyone involved.

For those keeping track though. (from the times that were reported to me, please PM if I'm wrong)
G6
1.9 Class:
1st - Dana and Phil - (NOTE: Chuck actually finished with the fastest time but his "teammate" snapped his front axles in the first 3 minutes for a whole bunch of penalties for gates missed )
2nd - Team Kevin^2
3rd - Adam and Kylie

2.2 Class:
1st - Bill and Josh
2nd - Mike and Chuck
3rd - Phil and Dana
*** - Adam (ran a fast time but his partner dnf)

U4: (This was a total blast, great course setup "thumbsup")
2.2 Heat 1 Advances - Dana and Derek
2.2 Heat 2 Advances - Josh and Phil
2.2 Finals:
1st - Dana - Yeti
2nd - Derek - Yeti
3rd - Phil - Beast
4th - Josh - Yeti (we're pretty sure he cheated somewhere in there ;-))

1.9 Finals:
1st - Chuck (even though everyone else broke something, Chuck drove the crap out of this course for a solid win)
2nd - Kevin ($0.05pimp) (Broke axle shaft 3wd for most of the race)
3rd - Dana (Broke axle shaft in first lap)
4th - Mike (really poor driver , jk - broke steering)

As everyone has said, it was a total blast and can't wait till the next one. Byron will be later this summer but we have another at Thompson damn which has some awesome terrain.

HUGE THANKS to Bill for setting this up with the landowner. We appreciate it a TON and are sorry for driving in the corn field.

Dana

Adam ran alone in 2.2 because I broke FarmTruck near gate 2 or 3.

But man what a blast today! Thanks to all involved in making it happen!

Had a great time. Thanks to bill and josh for making it happen. My 1.9 time was 27:57 plus 6 penalties (solo due to mike snapping both front axle shafts 10 seconds into the course). Mike has the exact time for 2.2 but it was very similar and I think 6 penalties as well. Thanks to all who showed up and made the day fun!

I had a great time yesterday!"thumbsup"

Thanks to Dana, Kevin, Mike, Derek, Josh and Chuck for course setup!

I have a few pictures and a short video I'll try to get uploaded here someday.

Thanks to all who showed up and made the day a blast!!

Oh, and the land owner say we can come back!!"thumbsup"

How did the vattera ascenders do? Also, what were the major causes course wise for all the breakages, especially driveline stuff.

Also, does the owner watch you guys drive?

They did alright, in 1.9 I ran with Mitch who was running an ascender, he did break the upper 4-link bracket off the axle housing in a way that he needs a new housing. But it ran great, and did well. It all comes down to the driver.

Chucks Twin Hammer did excellent:mrgreen:

And the owner does watch in a slightly perverted way, he has cameras hidden throughout the woods.

To all who skipped this because of the rain, you missed out again!

I'd say the major cause of breakage was the amount of power applied for a given amount of resistance. Oh, and rocks....and in my case, a tree at about 28 mph.:lmao:
