OK guys, here we go.

Yesterday, state Representatives Rory Ellinger (D-86) and Jill Schupp (D-88 ) introduced House Bill 545. Anti gun legislation that would turn many law-abiding gun owners into felons. HB 545 would ban the possession, sale, transfer or manufacture of certain semi-automatic rifles and magazines that are capable of holding more than ten rounds.

HB 545 contains no grandfather clauses. Therefore, under HB 545, if you are currently in possession of the semi-automatic rifles and magazines outlined in this bill, you will have 90 days from the effective date of this legislation to surrender, destroy or remove these currently lawful items from Missouri. If you fail to do so, you could be charged with a Class C felony if this legislation is passed and enacted into law.

Please take a few minutes and contact your representatives. Urge them to vote against this blatent attack on our Second Amendment Rights.

i live in michigan and called a couple reps and left message to vote against that ban its not right to put a ban on guns. look at Chicago it doesnt work. if you ban guns you need to ban them from everyone cops, army everyone. and u need to ban bats knifes beer cars all of those can be used as weapon to kill just like a gun. its not the gun or the mag capitaty its the user sometimes they fall in to the hands of the wrong person hands and we (law abiding safe and smart gun owners) have to pay for it. sorry for mis-spelled words holding my 2month little girl in one arm typing with other. i hopr that it does not pass

I sent a fairly generic email:

Ronald,

As your constituent, I am contacting you to express my opposition to HB545. In my view, any further restrictions on the sale or possession of these items would clearly infringe our right to keep and bear arms as specified in the Second Amendment to the US Constitution.

Please do everything in your power to defeat “feel good” legislation that would infringe on our Second Amendment rights. Your efforts will not be unappreciated at election time.

Sincerely,

Representative Higdon

sent an email to my representative. hard to say if i will get a return message. but i did learn that she supports a tax on violent video games (im thinking those are partially responsible for how some youth are so desensitized to violence)

How could someone who represents Missouri propose something like this? And expect to ever work in Missouri again.

And of course they'll give you fair market value for your collection right? :ror:

And they're going to confiscate them from all the criminals first I hope...

Nope and nope. Criminals are exempt, they get to keep their guns. That's how communism works;-)
