I can tell you from experience, a 9mm will go right thru them and they will keep coming. Even a well placed vital organ shot and they may not stop until they loose enough blood. Add drugs in and 1 shot may do absolutly no good. You can have your single shot, Ill keep my 19 rounds of hollow point.

My buddy is an EMT ina larger city. He told me of a time when he transported a guy with 7 gunshot wounds to the chest and stomach. There was another ambulance on scene who transported a guy who was beat within an inch of his life.

Story goes.. two dudes get in a fight about a girl, dude pulls a gun and shoots other guy 7 times. The guy who got shot took the gun away from the other guy after he ran out of bullets and beat him within an inch of his life with his own gun!

The two guys ended up at the same hospital together in adjacent rooms. When the guy with the gunshot wounds found out that his attacker was in the other room, it took 5 people to hold him down as he tried getting out of his bed and going after the guy.

The gun was a .45!!! And the guy was not on drugs.

One shot is never enough if you are in fear of your life.

You pull the trigger until the gun is empty.

Police departments use frangible and fmj loads for target practice. They use hollow points for carry. Same with the majority of guys whom carry for self defense. Some may use junk JHP ammo but most in the know will use HST, Gold Dot, Ranger and etc. There some gimmich frangible rounds designed to break up in the human body but they are junk and gimmick rounds IMO.

The more modern JHP bullet designs we have now are making the 9mm on a much more even playing field than they were years ago.

When being shot into a human body most frangible bullets act just like fmjs. They only disintegrate when they hit a hard solid object like a steel plate. I got a deal on a load of frangible bullets so I load them in my target practice loads.

I have a link to an FBI report where a guy got shot by LE well over a dozen times and even took several shots of .223 until he was out of commission. If it was not full of such graphic pics I would post the link.

Think "defensive wounds". Arms and hands. One in shoulder one in stomach.

I dont really understand this whole fuzz about guns and the american gun culture since I live in Europe...why is it that you dont really need to carry a gun around to feel safe? Dont bring up the topic that you guys have too many foreigners over there because we have foreigners also. Maybe it is time for everyone to stop being a cowboy because a gun doesnt solve your problems.

I meet the nicest people at the 4 public ranges(public, no police, no fees, no survelience, no range officers, no problems) and the 2 shooting complex's I go to. Not once has anybody ever gotten outta hand. Not even bad manners. Law abiding, gun loving, responsible, back bone of this country, good people.

Only takes one bullet to kill an intruder or anybody who puts your life in danger....

If I could unlike a post, I would've. Im new to the gun game, but even I know this is dumb. I don't know what kind of expert marksman could hit and kill an intruder with one shot.

Unless they had a Barrett .50 cal in the mouth of the intruder.
