Marzzz23's.... 5th D Sucker Punch...

As it is... We are sitting at 3lbs 12ozs rtr without knuck weight and feeling pretty dam good on the shake down run! Maybe .5-1oz per side and done..

Electronics.. Rx and fxr on electronics tray. Bec was going under tray but was tight, so it's on the link plate for now. A little shorter spacers will allow it under the tray.

(The extra wire floating around will be cleaned up when my Rx ends get here)

As for steering, I played with a straight ti rod and bent, short drag link to long. This is how my sss-rs was set up and it just works here as well.

Yes, I could space the servo out and use a straight tie rod, but didn't. The servo is good were it is.. IMO..

It gets full usable steering this way, in both directions..

For some body lines..

Now just to get it out for a few packs more and some pics on the rocks!

Cause it's not new anymore, but I was having too much fun to take pics.. I even gave it some of its first beauty marks, under the control of my light trigger finger.. ;)

Now for some real testing, to follow later..

Very well done 5th D!!!

I went out today to put the Sucker Punch thru it's paces. I was pleased and impressed, by how well the rig ran. After running the SP I may be laying my front socks down a hole on my own rig.
The link and shock geo is very smooth and free flowing. Even without some knuckle weight, the rig seemed pretty well point an shoot.

Ok, ok... On with some pics..

First climb..

A blip of the throttle was a must.

Cool shot from gate 2..

Now for the fun one.. This Use to be a pro only line.. Then shafty's got ridiculous! ;)

Ok, that was it for pic fun..

I noticed the rear likes to push the front a little when steering, with the setup as is..

Thanks for the kind words on the chassis. Must be fun having two rigs to run back to back.

By rear pushing the front you mean too much rear traction or like it's walking under?

No problem Travis, when something flat out works off the bench, I'm not afraid to say it.. ;)
Having two rigs is a bonus for testing, for sure! In a lightly populated area of crawlers, 2 of us, it can be tricky too know what works when crawling alone.
As for the rear pushing the front, it's only noticeable when on a flat rock or the sidewalk, not so much on the rocks crawling.
My sssrs did it as well. I believe I raised the rear uppers at the chassis and it went away. It will be crawler ready on comp day!

If Marzzz does not respond soon, just mail it to me. Great job Troy getting Dave hooked up for this season."thumbsup"

Rear links up a hole, took care of the push and it steers right an tight!

So I threw a full ring on, 1.3oz per side.

It felt good for the pack I put thru it. I'm thinking a touch more couldn't hurt.
When I get the weight right, I'll cut the weights in half and get them mounted low and wide.

Lmao!!! I had to come search this build..

I knew I had, push, off the bat..
So I had to come find it..

Funny, it's the last post of the thread!

But I built this with the, ole faithful, scx-xr axles.. Not those silly ar60's! :flipoff:

well the only wraith forum is a scale forum so it has to go somewhere :-p

I didnt know you do/did carbon work troy, still making stuff?

Nah.. The ar60 crawler section is "ax10 2nd gen"... Or better known as, "Ridgecrest"

I think axial thinks, only scx's use scx/ax axles these days.. Baahahahaha..

Yeah, I still make some things and sell some things.. Custom Fiber, at your service. Lol..
But don't tell anyone. Time is limited these days, compared to when I use to make a bunch of stuff..

I try to keep it limited to, motor guards.. And DesTroy plates, for scx/ax axle housings..
(Plus other stuff, when time allows)..
