Maddog Madigan's Exo

View attachment 194410View attachment 194411View attachment 194412Late but better than never, sorry guys my phone is not updating. I used rc4wd spacers from the screw kit, 31.95 I think. But used for all my stuff. Great little screw kit. With all the abuse it has taken lately, this light bar from Gear Head rc that was purchased through RPP hobby is bulletproof in my opinion . There are much better mounting options out there now. So I would suggest checking others that are installed with the light bar tucked back more under the cage. Much cleaner look.

Can you comment on this?

Thanks?

FFCrawler, in case you have not found it already, here is a link to the instructions I created on how to mount the light bar to the EXO: http://www.gearheadrc.com/instructions/InstallTrailTorchLED_LightBar_on_Axial_EXO.pdf

Thanks Jim, I'm currently rebuilding the Exo and will be using the correct way this time. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1337626180.686256.jpg

Well to be honest Jim, if I go that route. I take the chance of wreaking the light bar mount if I go at the exact spot you say to do,drilling at 12mm from bottom of top of the mount. So I'll wait until I get another one in. In the mean time after installing new bearing kit from FastEddybearings, that I went and did a couple repairs. First off thanks to axial for sending me the parts that were missing from the recall recall. I was able to keep it on all four this time.

Even with the correct turnbuckles ends and new axles, theirs still some room for improvement. Like 98mm axles instead of the short 94mm that barely stay in. But what a wicked little rocket Axial created! :)

I think the name (Punisher) fits for this rocket!

Will have the test video soon, bare with me guys on videos. Not an expert by any means. :)

I went with about 3-4mm of fuel tubing behind each dog bone (up towards the diff side, not the drive cup side) and it has actually worked even better than I expected as it seems to provide a bit of shock absorption to the steering rig. My exo is runnin' schweeeeeeeeet.

Yeah, I was on your thread and seen what you've done. I'll have to check that trick out.

Here is the test video

I picked up one of these a few weeks back, and haven't even been able to get a full pack through it. 3s has been hell on the elctronics. I had a 13.5t Tekin redline (sensored) and a MMP, fried the motor in a few minutes, it wasn't even warm to the touch one second, then went up in smoke the next. THEN, I tried out some hobbyking motor I had, it worked OK for a few minutes 'til i broke a shock cap on a normal jump (all 4 on the ground, nothing out of the ordinary). I then replaced the stockers with powerstrokes. ran it for a few minutes in my garage just to check things out, gave it the beans down my driveway, motor mount broke in half. brought it in, took it apart ( for about the 15th time), unplugged the motor, started fartin around with other stuff, came back up and bench plugged in the motor, and the ESC released its magic smoke. so now it sits. HUGE waste of time. I hate it, but dang, it looks good.

I built mine with axial's CVDs straight out of the box, they were falling out as I was building it, with all the stock susp. settings. QC at axial sucked when mine was boxed up.

I hope you have the best of luck out of yours. It looks killer, and has some topnotch stuff in there.
