semi stock set up still...
Found at fleet farm some "monster treads" by Ertl. they fit in almost perfectly when you cut the hubs out the stock rims.
got the body from a Hotwheels monster truck model. it's top heavy so i don't use it for crawling. at least not till I get a ladder frame. then it will become a scale truck.
Flipped the transmission, mounted battery on servo, used the rubber band trick to lower the axials. almost want to take out springs but too lazy.

"thumbsup"Awesome truck to work on.

Will probably repost if I ever get around to getting the new frame and finishing this thing. xD

Update: chopped the back, added interior, and turned a key card cord retracter into a winch. Solidified the steering servo, so it can turn these big ol' wheels. Even though the body is a little top heavy it actually does well since I dropped it.

Rocks on Lake superior make awesome crawling grounds for something so small!

UPDATE: Want to see what happened to this truck after I decided to go nuts with the modifications?

I trimmed the small lugs off the tires and took out the foams. Pen springs on the shocks and a Tower Pro mg90s servo. other than that, it's all stock.

still gotta shorten the servo wires

This crawler I bought for my son, to accompany my own LCC:

I hope to get a new chassis for it delivered today.

my 2nd truck, Trail trekker, mostly stock with a jeep body and a handmade "warn" winch! front wheel weights and no foam, these things crawl like champs!

Update:
@ olblueyez: body is from Walmart, one of those cheap toys with the buttons on the top. (forget the name though.) the wheel base is PERFECT on the jeep with no need to trim any of it! if your picky it will bind a tiny amount at max articulation while turning but i have yet to see that happen on the rocks. winch was a straw and some wire glued and painted.

Update 2: few people asked before how to mount them so low, here is how:

The jeep is for trailing and water proof. Also the trailer hauler. The other has a 90t motor and 56t spur and small pinion.
Both have custom shaped and pounded lead wraps inside front tires. There's a lot more done than what is seen. They both perform very well. Awesome tires on both.

Went for a crawl after dinner this evening. Just added some weight to the wheels and axle for the first time. Wow what a difference! More weight coming soon for sure and definitely more aluminum goodies. Also waiting on new barrel nuts for the BWD wideners. I had to remove my rear steering when one came off a few months ago and damn do I miss having it! This rig is probably the most fun R/C I've ever owned.
