Losi Baja Rey 1/10th 4WD RTR desert truck

Will the MC 3rd member work on the RR? What about Dlux modding the 3rd member? I remember seeing someone had it done? And Im curious why they ditched the front sway bar on the RR.

I can't wait to beat on my new RR!

If I run into that situation I will make it so it doesn't pop off. Sway bars and mounting points are pretty easy to make/modify.

There isn't any sway bar mounts up front, pretty stupid. Is there a stiffer sway bar available? Or just the factory set?

Edit: at least not on the A-Arms.

check maybe a different losi or TLR set. maybe even check to see if a slash 4x4 one would fit. I wouldn't know cause I race mine without. if I was to run it on clay, yeah the truck would need it but I am running it only outdoor tracks or indoor loose surface.

The problem is there isn't any mounts on the a-arms. RR uses different a-arms and has bigger front shafts.

For the rear I'll just pick up some piano wire and make a stiffer one.

The MC third member does not work. The ring gear does not fit. Either Igor bad parts or the rear ratio is different.

Does anyone know if the Baja Rey is going to end up with a dedicated forum here? I.E., vehicle specific like Wraith or SCX10? Am I asking this right???

Damn that sucks. Thanks for the update.

I talked to Dlux about a bigger bearing but everyone is out of housings so he can't modify any right now. Supposedly April is next shipment for housing.

It can work with a little work.

The rr allegedly is supposed to be a better axle. We will see in time. I seen where somebody said the RR axle it's supposed to be thicker wall diameter and the 2 Lil outside braces .

So long term are the stock third members surviving or do they 'need' the metal third member?

I have the RR and this may be problematic if the metal version doesn't fit.

What do they 'need' to fit to the RR axel?

I heard the RR does have a slightly different axel but I thought it was simply down to the addition of braces. Hopefully it is thicker but I thought it was a simpler change.

Non related, but I did notice that the RR already has a foam pad on the motor trap door which keeps out the dirt unlike the early BJ's.

Did you see my picture? That's what it needs. Also a little trimming on the inside of the plastic axle and smooth out the extra ribs. I didn't have any problems with my stock one for the few times I ran it. I just can't leave anything alone.

Cheers!

So you ground out the left side of the third member near the pinion bearing and trimmed a bit of the plastic axle so it would go together. I'm just not sure what the back of the third member looks like stock so I wasn't clear on exactly what was done.

So why did it need this compared to the BJR?

Is the Axle noticeably different inside as well as having the ribs for extra strength?
