Losi Baja Rey 1/10th 4WD RTR desert truck

People will need to message them or call and speak to a representative and show interest

Just because it's not a crawler doesn't mean SSD or vanquish aren't going to make parts for it. They aren't making anything for it now because it's wouldn't be a money maker for either of them. It's a one off truck with minimal sales compared to axial stuff. It's not worth it for them to spend the time to design parts if they are only going to sell a few of them.

I've got one at the office now. I think it's a cool truck. Looking at some part options soon.

Maybe...

I dont recall telling you our plans.

like you guys would make stuff for the Baja rey. its a waste of time. losi already got out what the rey needs.

I guess if you want, give people the option to buy from somebody else.

the keyword there is "maybe" you thought about it.

I personally would like to see a diamond axial for the ray. I've been trying to figure out how to make the one I have at the house fit

the axle is fine. its the "third member" that needs to be aluminum. and im sure its easy to put inserts in the plastic housing for the four bolts.

I bought a second Baja rey for the girlfriend, and its for the both of us to improve on it and see what we as a team can make better for it. eric d lux could make upper ti links for it. just gotta send him the length and dia. you need. lower links, losi has covered. but the plastic ones have served me well. the front alum shock tower is a need. losi has that covered. and you can now adjust where you want to put your shocks at the tower.

the only other thing I see a need for is an alum trans housing. and for boca to release a green seal kit.

You gotta be a special kind of window licker to openly discourage a company from bringing new parts to market. More companies making parts drives innovation and generally brings down the price of parts.

if its not broke, don't fix it. im no window licker. some of you must be though. chasing my posts just to try and insult me. pfft. drink a beer. chill out.

I had nothing but issues out of The Wraith axles that were in my Yeti. After destroying 5 or 6 of them to include a Vanquish axle. I purchased an SSD Diamond Center axial with larger bearings in the pinion. I have not broken anything as of yet one year later. I literally tore a plastic axial up in 15 minutes.

If I was chasing your posts you wouldn't have to wonder if I was or not.

Free market improvements are never a bad thing. Options in the market place are good and innovation is better left to the aftermarket since the factory never makes everything perfect the first go around.

you and the other crazy thoughtful bastards are the reason why I sign in 6 days out of the week. :lmao:

I understand where your coming from. but the Baja rey doesn't need all the parts support that the score needs.

the weakest thing left on my Baja rey is the front bumper, and well the frond clip. that's it. as ive posted before I race it every Saturday I can. one of these days ill get around to taking a picture so everybody can see what im talking about. ill need a new chassis plate in a few months its so bad.

I'm not referring to any rig or brand in particular when I say there needs to be multiple sources of aftermarket parts. Imagine if all we had for axial rigs were axial alloy parts. They are the highest price on the market and they are just simple copies of the plastic junk more often than not. It's companies like VP, SSD and even some of the chicom companies that have stepped up to improve upon designs rather than making carbon copies.

Went down on pinion with the stock motor? 2s?

yes. felt a lot smoother on this track. the track is a bit small. and I also dropped a sec off my lap times making those three changes. once the series and mscs come back round during the summer ill go back up a tooth for the pinion.

if you ever get a chance, go to 710 rc raceway during the summer. rj has a good track and its closer to you. "thumbsup"

Horizon has done a good job of releasing factory upgrades that are actually useful, so there's less demand for aftermarket parts than with other brands. I noticed that with my Ascender as well. The only factory upgrade the Baja Rey is missing is aluminum shock bodies; I hate plastic shock bodies, the threads never hold the upper and lower caps tight enough.
