Locked UP's TRX-4

Small update to the roof rack. I made the pieces a bit concave underneath so they hug the rack better.

I also installed a prototype battery tray.
Just "a bit" lighter.

Looks like a Venom 75C 4s 1500mAh 14.8v FPV Drone Racing Lipo.
Close.
The pictured battery is a 3S 1500mah 90C.

I want to test it because my older batteries seemed to be hitting the 50% cut off on the ESC really, really fast and I'm not sure if it's the ESC, the batteries or if the truck really just eats that much power.

That version of the tray was built for a different battery though, a 3S Turnigy Nano 40C 1400mah.

I'm curious if it might be possible to widen the stock wheels using your 1.9 wheel widening rings and maybe a wider beadlock ring. Clearly the holes would line up the same.

I actually don't have those wheels anymore so I can't do any test fitting and say with 100% certainty, but I think it could still work, yes.

The internal ring should clamp the inner part of the tire.

Since the back of the widener is stepped, it would/should take up the space in the center, then work to clamp down the outer bead.

Eric113 has those wheels now on his so the next time he brings his truck to the shop I'll see what we can do.

Since Eric snagged my DIY beadlocks, it was time to pick out some new bling for the TRX-4.

I opted for our 1.9" Heritage AO8 wheels and Agile Red rings.

I'm old school and I add a stick of weight per front wheel and I drill them for vent holes. I know everybody else vents the tires... I don't.

Mounted to truck with Ultra Hubs.

I think they go well with the 86(ish) Proline Bronco Body.

Yes, I mounted the Claws in reverse.
Some people say they give better grip in reverse on the rocks.
I did it because they are worn out so this way I have a sharper edge on the tread.
