Landahl Park Trails-Scale Recon #2
Saturday/Nov 29th
park entrance just off E Argo rd, Independence, MO
meet up there inbetween 9:30/10:00 am
starts @ 10:00 am sharp !
don't be late !!
once were on the trails you will never be able to find/or catch up to us.
just a few suggestions for this scale run.
NOTICE !!
if your not able to walk 4 or more miles & spend at least 4 + hours on this run,
then this may NOT be the trail run for you !
you will need
#1 at lease 3 or 4 - 4000 mah or better battery packs.
#2 spare parts for your rig & tools.
#3 good walking shoes.
#4 something to drink & a turkey sandwich (lunch snack).
#5 "optional" - bring & carry a extra rig - incase your main rig brakes beyond repair.
#6 try to wear a "BRIGHT COLORED" shirt or jacket !
it is deer hunting season in landahl park & hunting is allowed in the park.
this will be a super long scale trail run,
& is going to be a "EXTREME TEST" for you & your rig !!
going to run some trails that our group has not been on yet !
all-so PLEASE "do not" run your rig in the parking lot before we start !!
we need to keep it "low key" & RC cars out of sight in the parking lot area.

the parks parking lot is visable from argo rd,
you see the shooting range first on the left,
then you see our cars parked a little ways up the road - on the left side.
just don't be late - were starting out at 10:00 am sharp !!
& be ready to do a LOT of walking !!

looks to be a GREAT day coming up tomorrow for a scale trek.
PLEASE show up on time !
in-between 9:30 to 10:00 am - starting out on the trails at 10:00 am - SHARP !
heres the plan !
landahl park main trail to family trail 1.00 mile,
family trail to Scotts gun barrel trail - entrance #2 - .50 mile,
Scotts gun barrel trail to trail #10 & 11 entrance/exit - total mileage 1.66 (loop trail),
trail #10 & #11 (loop trail - back to Scotts gun barrel trail) - 1.85 miles
lot a mileage there !!
items you will need to bring with you for this scale run !!

What another "GREAT" day out on Landahl Park MB Trails.
this was KCRC's longest scale run to date !!
length & time - EVER !
on new trails this time out,
around 7 miles or so round trip,
& 5 hours total time !
what a work out - my feet still hurt - but it was super fun !!
yesterdays "trails run"
some park trail - part of Family Trail - Scotts Gun Barrel trail
& Trails 10 & 11.
although these trails are not near as rocky as the Rim Job trail.
the Gun Barrel & trails 10 & 11 are long-long-long !!!
the trails have a lot more "vertical climbing" on them,
compared to all the switch backs when going up hills on the RJ trail.
these trails take a lot more energy & efforit to run !!
tough trails !
still these are great trails & could see KCRC just doing a short scale run some time
just on the Scotts Gun Barrel Trail !

Definitely worth the pain!... Both rigs are back together and awaiting their next challenge.
My hips and back are in no hurry though!
I have to say that the trails at Lanahl park were a testement of toughness of my Axial Wraith and the weakness of my feet knees and hips. A long time sense this old man waled 7miles. But I survived however next time I will pack more for lunch. Truly beautiful walk with some great guys.
