KCRC - Kansas City Remote Crawlers -

Define "Japanese Truck". Tundras were designed in this country and are made in San Antonio Texas and Princeton, Indiana. While Chevrolets Silverado is built in the USA and Mexico. Now Im hearing that the restyled Colorado will also be built in Mexico. My Colorado was a piece of shit reguardless of where it was built. No way a 5 year old truck should have the tailgate busting at the seams with RUST and RUST bubbling through the bottom of all 4 doors. Last I heard GM didnt offer a standard 7 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty on their Certified Pre Owned trucks, theirs is only 2 year/ 30,000 miles.

You couldnt pay me to drive a newer Ford, their seats are terrible and interiors feel cheesy. Dodge has never been an option, just a matter of taste.

Americans selling japanese trucks !!
U should have know better

Waite a minute,
now i sound like DEZ

Where was your Silverado built, Mexico or here in the USA?

Hows that VW working out for you, wasnt it built in Mexico? Did you buy that VW brand new? Common sense dictates that you wouldnt since the profit would go to Germany and the wages would go to Mexico.

Common sense! Catch the disease!:ror:

Thanks for the info. "thumbsup"
A-1 tinting in Olathe(lol) did mine, my sons, and I know several other people who've had it done there is running a special right now. But it says cars.
heres a copy of the email I got.

wait, I posted it in here and it looks I'm posting an ad for them. Probably looks like I'm selling something in a post so I'll PM it to you.

My Chevy is 6 years old, made in the US, paid for, runs great, and has no rust?"thumbsup"

That said, not sure I'll could bring myself to buy a Government Motors vehicle. I don't care for the Ram (another Government Motors company), the Tundra looks like a pregnant guppy, the Titans look dorky stock but they look ok when done right, I don't know if I would buy one, and that leaves Ford which I've never been a huge fan of?:|

Guess I'll just have to hang on to my ol' Chevy for a while

Both VWs were the wife's choice. She doesn't give a shit were they were made or who made them. "thumbsup"

And my "common sense" comment was ribbing Jerry about sounding like me.:ror:

Ever drop the tailgate and look at the bottom seam? I looked at several 09 and 08 Silvys and about half of them had rust back there already.

Can't say that I have, but I will.

I know I had 3 bags of sand that stayed in the front of my bed closest to the cab for 2+ years. The bags that contained the sand had long been shredded and the sand held enough moisture for saplings to start to sprout!

I fully expected to find that area of the bed to be rusted out. I was shocked when I washed all of that sand out and nadda!"thumbsup"

sorry,
no VW stuff here !!
my buggy has a FORD motor in it "thumbsup"

its still a Japaneses truck,
as long as it says Toyota on it !!
keep it American

anybody know how i can fix this motor? not sure when this happened but i blew the last tiny bearing in my XR10 tranny and it locked up the motor and i noticed it...

Interesting topic.... "buy american"

I wholeheartedly agree with that....however I would challenge you to actually find any vehicle, in this case, that is.

If you want to travel in a 100%, US made, mode of transport......start walking. And barefoot I might add.

just my 2 pennies...

I always take all of the badges, dealers advertising etc off of my vehicles anyways. So when I take all of that off, what will it be then? Because it wont say Toyota anymore.

I used to whole heartedly support the "buy American" idea but it seems the big three keep turning out a lower quality vehicle for the same price or more than the "import" version. Ill stick by my decision until I see something domestic that feels like its of comparable quality.

Wonder how much you saved in gas once you ditched all that sand and "moisture".

Agreed. Even whats labeled as an American car is chock full of parts imported from all over the world. If someone looked hard enough they might be able to find an all US made bicycle. :ror:

It would appear that your motor suffered what you might call an Epic Fail. :lmao: Sorry, it was too easy.

You might pull the armature out and see what the can and magnets look like. If they look bad also, you might as well trash it and get a whole new motor.

that sucks man, looks like new armature time. Unless it's a HH handwound, mabey he will rewind it for you.
