Johnny builds a Toyota Hilux.

Thanks for the interior weight and looking very nice! :)

Thanks. I should have weighed it before I glued in the driver figure. That would have been a bit more helpful :)

The driver is the ubiquitous Tamiya Guy that's been trimmed up just a bit to fit. I'll post some pics as soon as I get a chance.

Well...I can say, anyone previously posting in here that they're the "last to jump on the TF2 bandwagon", you're not the last. I ordered my kit this evening...although, I've chosen to go the 4dr route. As much as I like the Yota body (and I really, REALLY do like it), I figured, since the LWB chassis has a 313mm wheelbase, should I ever get tires of the body, there's a huge selection of 313mm bodies...not that I think I'll ever want to actually change the body.

It took three attempts (paint, strip, paint, strip, paint again) but I'm finally happy (enough) with the detailing of the tail light lenses. That was... fun?!?!

Not like I won't try other wheels/tires on this build at some point, but I wanted something pretty stock looking to start. Some RC4WD Vintage Yota wheels (LockedUp RC acorns, of course) and little Falken Wildpeak A/T3W should do nicely. I'll throw some SSD scale hubs on there, too.

Nice details!

Looking forward to seeing the completed truck.

If your looking for a good skid plate I highly recommend A&M garage I just got the skid plate and the reversal shackle kit from them.

Won't be long now!

I ended up using the RC4WD shackle reverse kit an low profile skid. The A&M stuff looks nice, too.

Thanks. I built that tire finder because I wanted it for myself. I'm glad a few other people find it useful, too.

Well, it took a year (a year in which I built 3 other rigs after I started this one) to "finish" this tiny truck, mainly because I didn't want to screw it up too badly. In the end, I think it came out pretty OK.

The first scratch on this one is really going to smart.

Wow! I love that stocker look to that truck. It's awesome. Great job on the interior as well. It was worth the wait. Well done! "thumbsup"
