JeepinDoug's OTT Berg

Doug, I don't mean to hijack the thread ...

Guys who are interested in the new JPH motors, please PM or e-mail me. The first batch is just about gone, but another will be ready in about 2 weeks. Our website is about to get a complete overhaul, so I didn't put them on-line yet ...

These motors have been working out really well for those who have been lucky enough to get them. Made from the best components, Team CheckPoint cans and endbells, hand wound arms, etc ... I'll be starting a thread in the motor section when this next batch hits my shop.

Thanks to Doug for being one of the first to run the motors and give such awesome feedback! "thumbsup" It's ok to post a pic of the whole motor

Ok, on to OTT business .... Doug, next time let me cut the chassis for you, PLEASE! Not saying it isn't sweet and all, but by adding a few cutouts it might look a little more trick for your SWEET build! Carbon Fiber is something I love working with!

Jake

Nothing lately, sorry.

I've been working like crazy on my scaler for a Comp that finally happened today, "King of the Bean".
I'll be back to whittling away at it soon.

DOUG! PM me when you fire her up, I got to see the firet g-tech crawl with it, we can break a mini 1/10 bottle of champagne over her bow.

Done yet? Should I bust out the smoke machine and confetti for the first crawl? Or do you want to sell it?:lmao:

Niles, thanks for the bump.

The only thing that's been keeping me from updating this lack of light for good pics. I get home too late and there's not enough light. I was waiting to borrow a photo box from DPDSurf this week but here's some pics with decent light for now.

This rig has not been finished from the original start post on July 5th, 09.
I am fairly meticulous and if I don't have the right idea I will not follow through, I'll just wait for the right answer.

Chassis; Custom (me) Carbon Fiber (.062") CDW Chump.

Links; Lundsford Titanium uppers and custom (me) bent lowers.
---Revo rod ends with Integy Titanium balls
---Custom (me) Titanium tapered ferrules.

Steering; Custom (me) RC Innovative set up.

Ok.....if it says custom...it mean I made it.
Custom delrin servo mount. I started making one out of UHMV but I like the delrin mount better.
Bored VP knuckles and front tubes for 6/12/4mm bearings.
DSC00395.jpg

Custom 3/8" thick front hexes.
Enlayed Carbon Fiber electronics tray in skid.
The bottom of the skid is fluted.
Custom full top plate, from shock to shock. At anytime I could change shock position without changing body mount positions. I still need to cut an enlayed Carbon Fiber filler strip for the top plate.

This chassis is as solid as a brick.
Besides the crazy machine work inside the axles and out, the upper link mounts are clocked 30*.
All the shock ball mounts and stand-offs are custom made in Titanium.

I've had all my electronics on a board, prewired and ready to go for a long time. I could plug a battery in and play with the radio controls at anytime like this.
Motors; JPH 37Ts
ESCs; FXR-Pros x2
Servo; Hitec 7950th
Tx/Rx; Spektrum 6i/6001
BEC; CC 10a
Battery, Thunder Power 3s, 850mAh, 45c

Next up is transplanting the electronics, finishing the CF top plate and learning the sticks .
Whoops, I forgot.
Dropping some RC axle masters in too.

I'm into the upper link bolts from the inside out, that's how I have mine to avoid snagging any wiring, I'd recommend running a washer under the head of the bolts, I've had revo ends pop off the balls and ID of ends is slightly larger than od of bolt heads. You would have seen my pain if you weren't judging the next course when this happened!

Thanks guys "thumbsup"

Niles, I've never seen that happen to Revo ends, not yet anyway. The Ti balls are a little snugger fit than the stock balls. We'll see.

With my new setup both of my front upper rod ends popped off the balls at the G-Tech comp. I'm assuming gate 7 on course 2. I ran the rest of the day without ever noticing because the battery kept still them in place. There was a little side to side play and when I removed the battery later at home that's when I noticed. I couldn't believe it. So I still was able to do By a Thread with my uppers hangin on by a thread. :ror:

I'll take a servo mount! lol. no but seriously I will.. Looking good!
