JeepinDoug's OTT Berg

Thanks guys,
I haven't weight it yet.
Some of you guys get the trickle down parts but they're really few.
I'm waiting for a 7950 to come in and I'll start the steering.

What kind of Ti and what dia. are you using for those links?
I cant even get a .001 bend in the stuff I use.
I got to say this is some nice dang work bud.
Being a moonlight machinist I know what you have had to do to get this far. Nice dam rig.
Gives me all kinds of ideas for the upcoming Bully build I'm doing

I've viewed this thread a few times now..
Just wanted to say that you do awesome work and have some killer ideas.
Thanks for postin up great stuff to check out..

Thanks, the Ti that I'm machining is 6Al-4V6 from Onlinemetals but the links are Lunsfords Rock Grinder Links. I wasn't sure how it would bend so I just put one in a cheap brake line bender and tried it. Bent the steel hinge plate on my HF bender but just bent it back and finished the rest of the links.

Very nice work, Got me thinking about stayin after work and doing some widdelin."thumbsup"

Update time

One small detail on the shocks is a specific spring cup. I made these specially for my shocks.

The spring cup diameter is a little bigger than the inside diameter of the spring, then I cut a thread to contain the spring wire.
Also, there is no slot in the side of the spring cup so it will not come off and get lost.

Next up, some super 300s, polished and blueprinted.

A beginning to the steering servo mount. I still need to adjust weight and height for the appropriate tie rod I'll use.

The way it looks may change alot, this is just a starting point.

I must first come up with a tie rod mount design on the knuckle.
Notice the 3mm threads in the knuckle?

Those 3mm screws in the top side of the knuckle will help mount the custom hi-steer arms I've just started on.

I have two different levels in the works, a height difference of .150" between the two.

I'll be whittling away at it all week.

sweet axles! whats with the avatar?

Just so you can deal with me directly, (I don't want friends to jump to my defense when it's not worth it).
The paint job is a WWII German Messerschmidt warbird. Authenticity is important to era paint.

Why dont you grow up and get over it, and btw it is not a sticker and if you dont like dont look at it

B.T.W. looks great doug saw it on the 10th at hobby town

Gonna try to get it done before Pac-Grove, prolly won't comp it that day though. I need to get some seat time on it before I comp it,

Nice build you have here. Surely one of a kind so far. Ive always wondered if prolly gets spell checked. Prolly does. Yep, should be a word. WEBSTER!!!!!!! Computer is prolly broken. Keep up the great work, I am truely intrigued. Hopefully I can see it in person one day but prolly not.

I need some of those spring cups also....:ror::ror: hint hint....

is it possible to drill and tap a 3mm hole in them for a set screw, so the set screw will bite into the shock end and not lift the cup up off the end...."thumbsup"

Thanks guys.

Mike, you can do that easily. Mine happen to be press fit onto the shock end.

There are some shock spring cups in the works by another local vendor with awesome products, flip-flop, keep your eyes open for them.

I feel your pain....................not really!!
Another vendor here has a similar idea, neither of us will step on each others toes.
He shouldn't be far off with his design hitting the streets soon.

Damn Chump what's taking you so long with that idea?"thumbsup"
