Jeepers Keepers?

Yes indeed. Entire basement of my house is dedicated to RC. Just as fascinated with them as I was when I was 15 "thumbsup"

OUCH!! That sucks!!

Come on OSRC, share those amazing photos of your basement display again! "thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup"

Topher- Thank you for the thread topic and OSRC- Thanks even more. My wife thought I had too many but now... now with this documentation in hand, I can proudly ( less pathetically) proclaim ( beg) that I just need one more RC vehicle ( because hey... these are good guys and look how many toys THEY have!). This is just the leverage that I've been needing!

I've never been one to hold onto older vehicles once I move on to something else. I do kinda wish I still had my old lxt to run around with. Starting out I pretty much had to sell what I had to fund the next. This made me put on my thinking cap.

Sold/ given away:
Tamiya Super Blackfoot
Losi lxt (I had a couple of these)
Losi XX buggy
Tamiya Dyna Storm
Schumacher Cat 2000 (gave both of these to a buddy)
Schumacher Cougar 2000
HPI nitro rs4mt
Traxxas tmaxx
Ofna Monster Pirate
Ofna 1/8 scale buggy (can't remember model)
Nylint mini jeep
Traxxas Slash 2wd (just sold this one after having it for 10 years)

I think that's it for things I don't have any more. I've been in and out of the hobby several times since I got that Blackfoot back in ~93.

Currently own:
Losi SCTE 1.0 MIP
Redcat Camo x4
Redcat Everest 10
HPI Micro rs4 (2 I need steering parts for. Lol)

Interesting to see what others are doing with their RCs.

I've been in the hobby side since 2008 after many years and money wasted on 4wd RC from toys r us.

Traded/Sold
Traxxas nitro truck of sorts - Traded for a SCX10 Deadbolt
TRX4 - Sold for Element Trailrunner
Axial Scorpion - Ended up using all parts for other RCs
SCX10 Deadbolt - Parted out
HPI drift car x2 - Sold both

Current lineup
SCX10 II Cherokee w/rear leaf springs and SSD Pro44 axles
SCX10 II Cherokee Wroncho
SCX10 II 2017 Wrangler with SSD diamond axles (Looking for a Cherokee body haha)
Wraith
UMG10 6x6
Redcat Gen8 on 2.2s
Element Trailrunner
Losi Micro Crawler, just hangs out on the back of the 6x6 haha
4x4 Traxxas Stampede with 1/8th brushless motor
2WD Traxxas Slash with 1/8th Brushless motor
Radio Shack "Offroader" I upgraded the electronics to modern hobby grade stuff.

I'll probably buy the SMT10 next month. That'll be the last one :lmao:

So this really put my brain to work! Luckily I still have most of them and have records of them throughout the years. I'm going to go ahead and list the year I purchased these also.

I started R/C racing back in 1986. There are a few that I have sold back when I was young and dumb! Most of the ones I sold I wish I would of kept!

Here they are in the order I purchased them:

At this point I got out of the hobby to join the "party" life!

In 2007, I thought about R/C racing again so I picked up these next 3 on eBay used. Racing never happened!

Team Losi JRX-2 PRO (Nov. 2007) - Still have
Team Losi JRX-2 (Nov. 2007) - Still have

That is all for now! I have a couple on my radar to pick up this year!

Come on OSRC, share those amazing photos of your basement display again!

It's a mess, I'd be embarrassed.

I just went back and updated my list. I was thinking of this thread and went back and looked through the ridiculous 10k images I have of RC over the years. Old for sale pics, build threads and workshop pics. It was like a trip down memory lane. Stuff I totally forgot I had.

TC4 done up like the black Lambo from the Cannonball run, .21 Converted T-maxx sitting on dad's kitchen counter., my old JPS Clod, my old King Blackfoot with a first gen BL system that ate the dogbones in 7 minutes...lol. Good stuff. I should post some of those old pics, there's some cool stuff in there for the old RC heads.

Great thread Topher, I had a ball putting this list together. "thumbsup"

Entire basement of my house is dedicated to RC. Just as fascinated with them as I was when I was 15 "thumbsup"

That is one heck-of-a collection you have there! Looks like you have and have had more than most hobby shops!

Great looking collection!"thumbsup"

You win!:)

I have given up on trying to sell off anything, finding new storage spaces is easier than shipping.

Currently sitting on the rack-o-trucks to my left is:

-Vanquish VS4-10 Origin/Pro mashup
-GCM Skeleton
-SSD Trail King
-TF2
-TRX4 Land Rover
-Redcat Gen8

-Losi Mini-T 2.0

-Axial Bomber
-Axial IFS Bomber
-Axial SCX10 spare parts truck

Most of the stuff I sold off has been race kits from the times I wanted to get into racing only to not have the time or the track closed. The only crawlers I sold off that I wish I still had were my circa 2007 Tamiya Hi-lift F350 and my 2008 TCS X-trail New Bright JK to serve as a tangible reminder of the crap we thought was awesome back then. :lmao:

I'll play. I don't sell anything. I may have traded one for another, or disassmbled and used parts of one for others, but I have a hoarding sickness like the rest of you and my sickness is about 3 years old.

Sold off the rc collection in 2015 sadly due to life upending itself. Now I’m back with a gen 8. Awaiting stock of portal cva Inputs to get driving again. Kind of regretting not getting a trx4 But my lhs 100$ more for the sport kit alone. I love the gen 8 compared to my old experience with axial og crawlers.

Man, I couldn’t even imagine having more than 1 at a time!:lmao::lmao:

My first RC was a cheap China grade RC buggy. It wasn’t even a popular scale size:lmao::lmao: that was when I was about 7. I’m 14 now. That one just fell to pieces:lmao:

My second one A few years later was an ECX Stadium Truck 2wd 1/10th scale. That was the car that really got me into RCs. It was brand new at the time. I remember frying like 5 motors in a year. One day I decided to take it all apart(stupid) I had know clue what I was doing, and I completely messed everything up on it:lmao::lmao: I just trashed it. Kept a few parts off of it.

My 3rd one just 3 years ago a Helion Rock Rider Brushless. I bought it for $299 at Hobbytown USA. I remember seeing a red Defender flexing on the counter when I bought the Helion. back then, I didn’t know it was a TRX4. Never heard of it. I really wanted it, but I didn’t have enough $$ for it. I spent all my $$ to get my “dream at the time” RC car:lmao: I wanted a crawler, but got the wrong vehicle for what I wanted to do. So far, this was the most I’d ever done to an rc Before. I put a Proline F100 body on it And put some big wheels. I then bought a 7cell Venom Nihm battery for it and sold it for $500.

Now, I have a TRX4 Bronco. Have had it for about 6 months now. Heavily modified. Sound Kit. Jeep body. Full light kit. 2.2 Beadlocks And Super Swampers. This is definitely my favorite. For my first rock crawler, I have a lot to learn. Before the Bronco, all I knew was speed:lmao::lmao:

Figured I’d share my story seeing everyone else’s.

The amazing thing about OSRC is that his wife thinks he only has 4 RC's! :lmao: I kid.
3

:lmao: If that guy exists he needs to create a how-to thread.

Great thread, some amazing rig lists.

I gravitate toward collecting my RC’s. Only ever sold one to my memory, a SlickRock. I could have easily left it hanging from my basement rafters but it deserved a more appreciative owner. I just never really onjoyed it.

I have a few OG Tamiiya BUggies I built in the mid eighties as a kid(Frog,GRasshopper, Wild One). Wild One was my favourite of the bunch. They aren’t ever run.

On return to RC picked up a Twin Hammers. It was the new release and the local shop had it out of the box on the counter. Had to have it. I have procured a couple more Over the past five, six years Since.

Next came the Exo Terra. My kids have most of the runtime on it. They had too much success Launching this one. Needless to say, it was a hit but I rarely got to drive it unless I took it out by myself.

Picked up an Associated and a Losi SCB about here. Modern day versions of those OG buggies I loved as a kid.

Next the Axial Yeti. At the time it was Axials new rig. I really like the IFS/SRA combo. Didn’t like the Yeti however. I passed a lot of time upgrading parts on this one. My kid had a knack for blowing this one up. Steering in this rig was poor. Next mod likely would have been a stiffer or metal chassis to stiffen it up.

Spawn Wraith when it was the latest incarnation of this classic. It’s a Wraith, perhaps a must-own rig. I would like to build another one day.

Started to get into crawlers -Scalers at this point. Found a lightly upgraded Ascender kit build in the local buy/sell. I have 3 Ascenders currently.

Bomber next. Love the Bomber

Gmade R1, SCX10ii RBK for a Trojen Fab build, TRX4(2) and finally Element Enduro, my latest RC

*i do own a Traxxas Blast speedboat as well

*May have forgotten one

To quote eddie murphy: I keep that s#!+ like luggage
LOL

The only RCs I sold was from my youth and I regret selling:
Tyco turbo hopper
Tyco turbo hopper II
Tyco fast traxx(?)
Tyco hovercraft (typhoon?)
Tamiya blackfoot

Then I got back i to RC while stationed in japan circa 2006 got bit by the rc drift scene
Hpi nitro rs4 (ah, guess I sold that one)
Tamiya TT01R
Associated TC3

That was it for a while until my father in law Rick let me drive his yeti around 2015. Hooked on offroad!
Axial yeti
Ascender from a certain codyboy
Barrage for my son
Another ascender for my son
Sold yeti (dernit I guess I do sell a few!)
Enduro s endero
Kyosho outlaw rampage pro
Traxxas slash rwd

Whats next? Who knows! Maybe some real drift chassis like Yokomo yd2 or mst.
But ive always wanted a tamiya sand scorcher...
Time will tell but I like to keep cars as long as I can!

I know this hasn’t been up in a while but maybe some people missed it and can chime in. Got me thinking because my brother, who’s not really into rc’s, asked me... “How many cars have you had this year?” And got me thinking.. with all the free time I’ve had, I did a lot of wheeling and dealing. If my memory serves me right, this year alone I’ve owned 17 cars 3 chassis, one got built then built again into 2 of those chassis. A plane that I never flew and I acquired a glider from my dad I have yet to fly.
I still have 3 cars and 2 of the chassis. Also the glider. But that’s it
I may have a problem [emoji15]

Here are a couple more rigs that I have added to my list that can be found in post #25.

- Axial SCX10.3 Jeep JLU Wrangler RTR (September 2020)
- Axial SCX10.3 Jeep JT Gladiator RTR (November 2020)

There are a few more that I have on my want list, so we'll see what ends up in my garage in 2021!

Happy New Year RCC!

I have a lot of catching up to do....

I had some kind of 2wd buggy way back in the 80s when I was in the service.
That is long gone.
Had a couple of cheap wl toys cars for the dogs to chase - this is what got me started.

Current list:
1/16 Traxxas Slash (will be made into something else, not sure what. Dogs didn't like it)
1/10 Slash VXL Currently has a beetle body
Tamiya CC01 Early Bronco (1080 esc, new motor) Kinda crap but I like it
TRX Sport kit (1080 esc, HH crawlmaster, 2 speed trans)

I did blow the budget on a printer so I can make my own parts and bodies so it may be a while before I add to the collection.

It all started with this...
gKEFBW8.jpg

Tamiya Lunchbox
Tamiya Falcon

XqFCR0g.png

Traxxas E-Revo 1/16
Axial Wraith Spyder
Traxxas TRX4 kit
Element Enduro kit
Axial SCX24 (x2)
