Im not big fan of the Jeep CJ-5 but a guy walked in the shop a few months ago and asked if we would be interested in building one.
I thought it was going to be somekind of restoration like we usually do but I was wrong.
I took a ride to his house to check out his project he already had started and wanted us to finish .He had went and bought a 79 CJ5 drove it home and took it all apart and threw 99% of it away and ordered a new tub, motor, trans, and T-case.All he kept was the axle housings and the junk ass frame but was dead set on using them. So I brought it back to the shop.He said he wanted a driver that looked good and go to local shows and cruise-ins.
The new tub is rough and has to be straight.
So the plan was to use wheels that you do not see on a cj 5 ,small 2 inch lift and fill the fenders with tire.
Do the body in a matte black with all the bolt on peices "hinges ETC..." in black chrome.
Paint the motor and stuff bright and do all the bolt on stuff on the motor in chrome.
The plan was to have as little shinny stuff on the outside other than the black chrome and the motor to jump out.
The interior is very simple low back seats, stock guages black chrome trim peices and a Coleworx cage.
Anyway here is where I am at now.
Motor the way it showed up.

Looking good Joe!

My dad and I have been building a 75 J-5 for what seems like a lifetime. I was supposed to get it when I turned 16...:ror:

Yeah, no kidding. It's like a larger go-kart!:ror:

My gosh that is some bling paint!

I have a 1980 CJ-5, I love it. But wow, that's not for me, cool, but ummm....
