JCon's RS10 Build/Conversion To Wraith

Thanks man. I added everything up and after buying that plus everything thing that would come along with it like body, tires, shocks, links, servos, and the list could go on and on lol or I could just buy a wraith and have two rigs. One that I could actualy enter into local comps with too. But I am also torn between the scx10 and wraith. At the end of the day I like to go fast so the wraith might win :ror:

If u got the money, and know what u want buy it.

I did this conversion for fun.... I will not have the speed of a real wraith.. without more mods. which may come just for fun. I have another xr10 based rig for strict crawling when it is done.

this wraith conversion will be my trail trekker. mud finder. hill climber.. etc

the 540 mod is eating at me erryday I may do it once I'm settled again.

Nothing has been replaced yet on this rig. And that is very surprising to me. I have had to over tighten screws to make contact lol.
And other things but it handles throwing the xtra weight around perfectly tbh.

The time has come though to replace axle parts with new so I will order doubles of everything so I have backups for next time.

Hope u get what u want. I'am more than happy with this. but don't get me wrong far from what a wraith can do..

i would do it too cause imo the rs10 is very capable stock. i have just read the plate on the spur inside the axle can not handle much more power like running a 3s lipo or doing the 540 swap. i think mountain storm is cooking up a plate that will hold up to 3s or 540 motors. i will keep up with what u guys are doing and if it works ill definitely throw some money at the rs10!

Well been awhile. the move was hectic. I have got nothing done! :)

But I'm resurrecting this finally.

placing order for new spur plate assemblies dogbone cups hexs. they are all worn out.

some other things here soon. getting it ready for winter.

I also see Redcat has brought out the Everest crawler. a shaftie at a nice price. I think I may order one up around xmas time.

anyway great to be back. hope it dive right into the hobby again.

Well getting ready to place the order.

RCT-T006 Spur Gear Complete..
RCT-H009 Aluminum Wheel Hex with Pins
RCT-H005 Wheel Shaft

That will bring the axles back, So much play in there right now.
That's it for now.

Well ended up picking up a used traxxas transmitter n receiver for 20$
Nothing special but works good, Then realized the servo was screwed from when the lansu gave up on me.
picked up a Tactic TSX40 High Tourque Metal Gear Servo . 25$ . Seems to be working good so far.

Moved esc n stuff around.
Picked up 2 more Tires. Panther Cougar.. 19.99 with foams. I must say these work very well. and are very soft. very good for the price.

neone got universals that fit on knuckle side.?

I can get them cut/ welded back together at work. what should I try for a universal

Well got bored lol

Still want to adjust a little. but hey they work. I tried to make wide enough to look like they would stop mud throw... but not get in the way crawlin.

That's what it is all about lol. get some fun in before its time to tinker again.
The screw gave me troubles a few times today. but ofcourse did not take a screwdriver on this adventure. And on the final fall out, I lost the screw hahaha.

The flares worked out pretty good. I was able to find some thing delrin like plate. just cut a little longer than I needed, then shaped it to the wheel well with some heat.

I then shaved the edges till it look somewhat on the scaleish side to the body. and tried to keep them out of the way for when doing some technical crawling.
believe it or not they are held on with some elctridal tape LMAO. but they are holding strong atm. while I look for another way to permanently attach them.

Some Climbing. kinda impressed a little. Given the amount of wheel speed these things have.
Sorry in advance I suck at taking videos.

lol.

im using my Nokia windows phone holding it onto the radio lmao.
no I did not edit anything besides adding sound. I do want to get into this stuff a little more myself.

I do have asony cybershot I would like to mount to the radio someday and try

Good to see you are keeping the beast alive. About the UNIs seems to me the XR10 Universals would work if you can cut them and do weird shit like weld cups onto them. They are extremely tough and you can get crazy angle out of them.

Remember to replace the pin for the spur plate with a tighter fitting piece of hardened shizz like a hex wrench section and to slobber it up with JB Weld before screwing it back together. Mine lasted about 10 times longer than I expected after I did that. I ended up breaking the shaft instead of the plastic plate.

I've got my RS10 in the parts bin all parted out as a donor to all my other rigs lol. But it was my first and I might put it back together one of these days. Right now the AX10 rig is my daily driver. Thing is flat out indestructible.

Well Rear motor finally starting to die, Switched them around for the front for now. going to order new ones soon.
got some new ECX 114mm Shocks for this build. Man they work some nice.

Some more lil things to come.

I know there is not much for motor to fit these stock. looks like redcatracingcanada is easiest place to get em but they 19.99 a motor..

anything better?

you could consider a small outrunner brushless motor setup
motors are about 10 dollars each and the escs start at 12.00. you would need 2 escs
if you go brushless.
hobby king has the lowest prices on this stuff
