I recently put a Fusion Pro 2300 in my Capra and for 3 trips out it worked great and really transformed the truck. Today I went out and drove it about 100 yards from my truck to the rocks and just as I was starting up the first obstacle it shut off and won’t come back on. It’s got a Radiomaster R85C receiver and now when you connect a battery the lights flash once and then nothing, the power button is dead. I have taken the switch and cleaned it with alcohol like the trouble shooter says but it still won’t come on. Nothing gets hot that I can find. Where do I look next?

Batteries are charged, tried several. I have an old multimeter around here but don’t know how to use it, what setting would I use.
I have seen on the ol’ Googler that a dead button is a thing with this motor/ESC. If that’s the case how would I confirm it?

You want your multimeter on DC (solid line, not wavy line). Put the red lead on one side, and the black lead on the other. If it reads negative (-), then you have the leads reversed, which isn't that big of a deal for this, just need the number. If your pack is fully charged, 3S should read around 11.1VDC, 2S should read around 8.4VDC.

Given your battery is charged, what happens when you plug in the battery and turn on the ESC? What are the lights doing on the ESC, and on the receiver? If you have lights on both, what happens when you squeeze the trigger?

Have you opened the receiver box and mashed the connectors in?

I’m just heading in to work for the night but I’ll check the voltage tomorrow morning.
When I connect the battery the headlights flash just once and then nothing comes on. I press the power button and nothing. No lights on the motor/esc or the receiver.

So I checked the voltage and they are good. Took it to the local shop where I bought it and he thinks it’s the power button too so I contacted Hobbywing for warranty.
