Imthatguy's RC4WD Gelände II w/Cruiser Body Build

How much do you charge for weathering a truck? lol

The great thing about weathering is that there is no exact science. Have at it and do a little at a time. It will evolve into something amazing. No two weathered trucks are alike. "thumbsup"

I took the Cruiser out to play at pardonmynoob's backyard, Smiggin's Folly. Much fun was had. It's an excellent place to play.

So awesome!

Any plans to convert the rig to leaf springs? The linked suspension bugs me.
Was the difference in performance obvious between your cruiser and noob's cruiser? I'm purchasing a kit today, but can't decide weather I want to keep the linked suspension or convert to leafs.

There's definitely a plan to convert to leafs. I've got all the bits just need to find the time to make it happen. I wouldn't say there's a huge performance loss by going to a leaf sprung setup. It's such a top heavy truck due to the well crafted body, that firming up suspension probably helps.

Makes for a more challenging a rewarding drive anyway!

I picked up RC4WD's latest, greatest tire the 1.9 Hawkeye for this old heap, and I'm totally in love. Pardonmyn00b had a part in helping design these and they're absolutely perfect for a stock look on this truck. Nice, firm foam included, side ribbing and plush compound. It's brilliant, and looks brilliant too.

Oh wow!

I ordered a set of those also, but haven't gotten them yet. They look absolutely perfect on your FJ. Looks like the foams are holding that big body up well. Thanks for posting these pics."thumbsup"

Now I'm really excited to put them under a Willy Waggy build.

The FJ is such a nice body. I just wish it wasn't an assembly model kit.

Mine's super heavy with that roof rack as well. I'm pretty excited by the look.

Very nice truck sir. How are those 1.9s under that tiyote?

They're good. I like the narrow track. Lots of grip even in the cold weather we're having up here.

Huh? There's not much more to this body's construction than say, a Hilux or Mojave. 99% of this hobby's fun is putting things together, no?

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought that body came in multiple pieces.

Putting things together is fun, but not bodies. Not for me anyway.
