IFS kit for Wraith

Yes it would be no different than using SDS shafts. Just use a carbide burr on the dremel and you shouldn't have any issue.

i went thru like 3 carbide bits drilling out one !
that HD ring gear metal is super hard.
just wanted to point this out to everyone "thumbsup"

good to know !! thx

I've all-so noticed that the BM lockers out put shafts seem kind-a long !
having built several diff lockers now - i had trouble when the out put shaft were overly long !
OP shaft seemed to bend faster & drove the drive hub/cup to far out,
thus it hit on the swing arms - when the rig bottomed out.

so i made my current locker with the OP shafts as short as i could & used a stubby MIP drive hub.

shorting the OP shafts solved all the above problems !
on some alum swing arms - U will need to clearance just a small spot though.

I have one setup with a 6mm alen with the mip shafts and the the BM setup with traxxas shafts. I will upload pictures later.

x2 on the carbide bur. It goes through the hardened gears like butter. I used my mill but it would probably work with a hand drill as well.

Just placed an order for a 6mm exo spool is it possible for you to shorten the output shafts when you go to make next batch? Was just looking into it cause I read a few post back how the output shafts were just a lil bit too long and causes shaft to hit control arm. I'm sure a lot of people would like that as well if that were a possibility. If u can AWESOME but if u can't no worries. Thanks for your time and awesome products keep the awesomeness comin brotha

just a ?
about your 6mm output locker.
most of the ring gears I've seen - only have 5mm pass thru hole on them,
do/will U have to bore out the ring hole to get that 6mm locker shaft to go thru the ring gear ??

I've try to bore out the hole in a HD ring gear - that was vary hard to do !!

i'm not sure why anyone would need 6mm shafts in the first place . i made them because people asked for them "thumbsup"

Yes i can do that. but it will have to wait until the next batch which will probably be in 3-4 weeks. how much shorter do you want them? let me know.

the output shaft length was determined by necessity. any shorter and the traxxas CVDs and MIP CVDs (for traxxas) would come apart somewhere near full droop. it looks like the DMG is using MIPs but probably from various applications to get the desired length. it appears like the male shaft was welded??? got any insight on that Jerry?

i'll produce these things however you want them... i'm crazy. but please keep in mind most of the guys on this thread have WAY more capability in their garage than 99% of my "bolt-on" customers. that's why the shafts need to be long.

however being one of the 1% myself, i understand your needs and try to offer custom parts as much as possible. it just takes a little longer.

Awesome thanks i really apprwciate it and I Pm'd the DMG about getting a opinion on shaft lenght. Cause I'm still with out the rest of the MIP mod so I wouldn't be able to give u a number BUT I'm more than willing to wait till next batch like you were saying, I'm not in any hurry so that's not a problem. I'm sure my garage is no match to other custom builders on here like yourself and the other 1% u speak of but it's getting there. Should i Pm you when i get a number? Thanks again Matt and have a great weekend

NOOO! email way better than PM "thumbsup" and yep just let me know when you are ready to pull the trigger.

Regardless of material, I think 5mm is too small for the diff output application. People break 5mm trans outputs all the time and they see less torque and shock than diff outputs. 6mm is the smallest that I would consider reliable. I run 1/4 on my rig front and rear.

i try to keep the input shaft on my locker as short as possible,
just long enough for a drive cup or MIP drive hub to fit on - right up to the locker itself.

seems when you have the out put shaft longer than necessary it wants to bend faster - 5 or 6mm !

look at the stock EXO locker - drive cups agents the locker
(right side) MIP drive hub with a longer out put shaft - not good !
(left side) stock EXO drive cup - no out put showing ! - good
IMG_4482_zps6d74451e.jpg

keep them short as U can - should have no problems with dog bones popping out ! - & a lot less chance of bending the locker out put shafts !

only mods i did on the MIP drive shafts - was to cut them down for more shock clearance. stock MIP lengths

& just a side note !!
if your thinking about a BM locker for the Yeti & if it is set up like a stock EXO front locker ?
we may/will need these drive cups for the BM locker to run dog bones/CVD's on the Yeti ! - i believe !

for 5mm shaft lockers & dog done/CVD's front drive shafts

just trying to help out U - make us the best front locker out there !! "thumbsup"

the battery mounts in the rear much lower than stock location. makes lots of space in the front for big ESC and servo winch.

Dose anyone have a picture of the electronics tray with the kms winch and the ifs kit. I can't seem to get mine in properly.

Sorry for the crappy image but here is the tray laying inside my wraith (not fully installed). there is plenty of wiggle room with the K3 even with the tray adjusted all the way down. HTH
