Hobbywing Xerun AXE

Yeah i'm a bit shocked by the price. The other hobbywing brushless lineup has been cheaper than the Mamba X combos.
You could get an XR8 plus G2 motor for cheap.

Hopefully the performance match the price tag...

Just curious, what particular performances would make it a better choice for you? Seems castle has a lot of customizability, could even go with Holmes' castle variant for the "Holmes Hold"...
 
I was just saying in general, higher price should mean better performance.

I really like the waterproof sensor cable and the Bluetooth.

Now that i think about it, that Bluetooth might be worth 50$ in itself...

What is stopping yourself and the other motor/ESC manufacturers getting together and forming a working group to solve this? It's worked in other industries.
 
The price - people are hearing $250 will be the price and balking, but...

1. Where is this info? I haven't seen it stated, officially, by HobbyWing.
2. I assume that's retail and street price will be lower.
3. This is a new system with new to the crawler world features. Performance has yet to be determined. It might be worth $250 or maybe not. To be determined.
4. The motor is crawler specific for the AXE system and has features your run of the mill motor doesn't. I don't think you can fairly compare this motor directly to your favorite, inexpensive motor. More features usually mean a higher price.

Castle thinks it is, and they decided to release it only having support for Crapple first.

No one is comparing it to favorite inexpensive motors tho; the comparisons I drew were to castles premier and holmes premier crawling offerings that are at the same price point. The point I was making is hobbywing is seen as a budget brand but this controller doesnt seem to embody that ideal.

HobbyWing isn't a budget brand. You, personally, may see them as a budget brand, but they aren't. They make world-class racing systems.

Since when? I have been out of the phone game for a while, but figured I would have heard when Crapple overtook Android as top seller.

I would suggest you take a look at a racing forum and see how big Hobbywing is in the racing world.

Crawling isnt racing though lol. In my personal research into the brand its always been budget chinese stuff.

Ok, its a 57/43 split in androids favor. Still, as a developer, I can see the appeal of Apples quality control system over Androids. Its just easier to develop for Apple since there arent a myriad of different devices to tailor the experience too.

And you have no idea what you are talking about. different devices, yes. Still the same OS but with different skins. Android is Android. Different versions can present difficulty, that's why Android stops supporting older versions of it's OS.

Maybe you're thinking HobbyKing.

HobbyWing does offer some budget electronics, but, as I said, they make world class products. Even their "budget" WP 1080 is an amazing ESC.
