High Voltage servo wiring

I just bought a Savox SV-1270tg high voltage servo for my Yeti to replace the stock one. The stock receiver is only good up to 6v so I bought the CC BEC and castle link so I don't fry the receiver. I set the BEC to 7.4v from the castle link and wired it up like the diagram up above. I'm getting a lot of different opinions for how to wire it on Facebook so I'm looking to see if anyone on here knows for sure if I wired it up right. From what I've read on here and some other sites this diagram seems to be the way to do it. Just want to make sure. Thanks
 
This should work just fine.
But didn't hurt to connect the ground from the receiver to the BEC too.
 
Ok cool. Thanks. Would it be the actual receivers ground or would it be the ground from the servos plug I would be grounding? I saw another diagram kinda like this one but it had the ground wire from the servo plug where it plugs into the receiver grounded in with the BEC.

yes, this works too.
This is how I wired my servo (1270 too)
 
i may be missing something ... but I think you need a receiver bypass harness. You can either plug BEC into the receiver ( and disable the internal BEC's power ) and let it then power everything through your receiver or ... ( the best way ) hook the BEC and the Servo into a receiver bypass harness and plug the harness into the steering slot in your receiver.
 
You don't have to use a bypass harness. They just make it plug and play. This works just as well except I would definitely run the ground from the reciever into the servo ground as well.
 
If you plan on running a servo over 6v you should not feed the BEC voltage trough the receiver ( most of them do not like voltages above this value).
Use the below diagram :

or check out Holmes Hobbies website they sell a wire that makes this arrangement plug and play

Note that red & black BEC wires go straight to the servo but then you feed signal from the receiver.
Black comes also from receiver to make a double ground.

Alternatively get a NoBrainer BEC, and it's true plug and play

I wired it like the top diagram and so far no problems. I wish I woulda know about that plug n play harness before I did it though.
