***HARDKNOCKZ El Nino III***

Rigs torn down & the rebuild's begun.

I started with the trans...replacing the old gears with new Robinson bling & bolted em up to the Crawler Innovations Maxx shaft kit. The included outputs are just BEEF & i can't see EVER having issues in that department again.

Also included is a cool little aluminum piece that JeremyH made for me to replace the top shaft. It's lighter, tighter & shorter. Not bad fer a Texan. Moocho grassyass pardner "thumbsup"

Here she is stuffed with hardened blingtastic neatoness...

One of the things I wanted to do with the case was install some brass inserts to keep the threads from getting boogered. I always have at least one mounting hole that gets stripped or wallowed out so this will give me a little more of that reliability I'm after with this rig.

Someday I'll learn how to work my camera so all the pics have the same "temp" instead of some being warm, others being cool & others being whatever.

Anyways...I bolted her all back together & installed the killer BWD motor plate. Love that blang thang.

I also threw the 32p spur back in place & mounted the new Holmes 13t Crawlmaster. She's gonna be quick me thinks.

After I shorten up the Maxx shafts, I'll be pulling the FXR to swap it out for a Micro Sidewinder. I'll also be playing with link & shock geo but she'll be on the rocks again in the next day or so. Keep an eye out for my 1st El Nino Tres Locos Mokos video cuz it's a coming.

That's one beefy looking tranny! Are the 32P gears really necessary?

He still needs an aluminum gear case. And ues. I smoked 48p at the WCS. I especially see 32p gears a must have with all this rage of CF motor plates coming down the pipe line. Even at 3mm to 1/8" thick, CF is still much more flexible than it's AL counterpart (both 6061 and 7075.

Well, waddaya know, that thing actually fit. We're both surprised.

Yessir & I found the idler gear shaft ya made me too so looks like I'll be heading back in.

Not TOTALLY. You can get away with running 48p but I'd HIGHLY recommend going with a better gear like the Robinson. Not the metal spur but the plastic jobby but Trav's right....spurs go quick depending on your powerplant & throttle finger. While I have pretty smooth & consistent throttle control from the racing days...that 13 turn Crawlmaster is a quick little motor & if you're not careful...it'll easily eat gears.

Looking sick man I gotta make it over to the casa to fondle this bad boy.

My tranny? That's MY tranny & only I can fondle him. Her? IT.

I love my 32p gears.

nice work bruda. Shes a good looking tranny.

Thanks Cam Doggy Dog. Glad you're comin back around & hope to see ya at Nats this year. No matter what you say...this Fosters is YOURS. Afterall...according to Dundee...it IS Australian for beer

Uh oh. Someone spilt the beans on JD's fondness of thai lady boys:lmao:

Um...you're a thai lady boy & I HATE you. BTW FUGGER....I JUST found your damn Sonic hot dog under the seat in my truck. Fricken thai lady boy :flipoff:

First time I got a boner off a tranny....that wasn't human.:lmao:
Great start Crusty D! I'm jealous.8)

Whelp...the Nino Tres had it's 1st official outing this past Saturday since the catastrophic failures that ended her day at The WCS. It was our clubs second to last comp & after a more thorough build, I was looking forward to putting her thru some gates.

But alas...twas not meant to be. After running my 1st 2.2p course, I gotta text that the wife was SUPER sick & I had to pack up & split so the Nino got tech'd, entry paid, put on the pit table only to be thrown back into the ride to motor home.

Admittedly...I haven't spent much time playing with this rig. Test & tune has been slim at best so I decided to take her out & leave the 2.2p rig at home last night after din din. Here's a few poseur pics that I took with my snazzy new Cannon as the sun slipped behind the mountain...

I ended up switching out the SLW's for the NCD CF wheels stuffed with some Crawler Innovation love to help break in that closed cell inner & tuning discs.

I was getting a little bit of lift so I raised my front uppers 1 hole & it helped smooth the transitions out.

I'm digging how this rig went together with a very basic & neutral setup & worked killer. She has some quirks fo sho but nothing a little tuning wont fix.

I DO have some updates for this rig but gotta run outta town for a few days so will be posting those up soon. I also grabbed some video & plan on getting some more this weekend so look for dat too.
