GTSLOW builds an SCX10ii based Isuzu MU.

Flat black window accents are complete! I did the front cowl but that's not as exciting. When I looked at this photo I asked myself why I didn't fill those spare tires holes. Figure I'll have to get a spare now. Doh!

The rear hinge has received some love. Added two inner sections and increased the thickness everywhere by 1mm. New design is very stout.

Wheels and tires have been updated. I REALLY REALLY want to be able to flex and tuck tires with minimal rubbing. So I finally got a set of the 1.55 narrow hubs from RC4WD. These supposedly have issues due to the lack of threading near the pin on Axial ends. So I'll have to stack washers, use a die and cut threads, or even try scale hubs.

Added LURC scale acorns too.

Narrow hubs + narrow AR44s should really give you a sense of how small this body actually is.

The Gear Head roof rack is mounted! Threw the wheels and tires on for some poser pics. The stance on this thing is phenomenal. I absolutely love it.

Small parts order this evening.

RC4WD scale front hubs
RC4WD scale tool
LURC scale rear hubs
LURC scale tool
Universal Light kit

Some plans for this week:

1) wire up electronics
2) pickup Mopar clear coat touch up can
3) paint section under the bumper with Tamiya Black Rubber
4) design rear light buckets for brake light/marker
5) dremel out taillight
6) cut down axles to accommodate scale hubs (there is a TON of extra thread because of the narrow hubs

Small update.

So I wasn't into the chrome look. While I did order the below grill from Poland I wanted to black out mine and paint that inner section. FYI the Poland unit has the dual headlights and the Tamiya has single.

So onto the stripping!

After. Remember that inner section will equally end up body matched blue.

And some much needed poser shots.

That is sweet! Awesome job on the custom fab work. Wheels and tires look like they were made for this body.

Back in the day, when I was still in the Air Force, I had a fellow instructor with a DD Amigo in that same color. His had a soft top on the rear and the OEM Aluminum rims. Always thought it was cool, cause you didn't see very many Amigo's still running, lol. "thumbsup"

Damn, this is pretty sweet. Somehow I never saw it before. Any updates on it?

Nice work! I'm building one using the Mst cfx chassis, not so much fab work so yours is awesome. How long did it take to strip the chrome?

She's all wrapped up and running great. A local friend made me an offer I couldn't refuse so she's been rehomed.

No......he will never get it back [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] it lives with me now. But in all seriousness GT is a great friend of mine. I admired this truck as he was building it and sharing with us Locals what he was doing. Then after it was finished, another food friend of ours purchased it and kept it for a while. Then he made the mistake of listing it up for sale and catching me with the funds in my pocket. It has since became one of my favorite trucks to run. In the previous months of me owning it and the little run time it saw with our other friend having it, the paint has taken a beating. The mopar paint that GT used was, unbeknownst to him, probably not the best paint to use on a hard body trail truck as its super brittle and chipped off easily. In the last set of pics he shared above you can see this on the sides and front bumper. So in preparation for Beat The Creek in Maysville Kentucky next weekend the body is getting some love. I gave it a nice thorough wet sanding down to 600 grit, some good filler primer and a new color. She also got the old tires from the original build put back on as they suit the BTC terrain better than my PBX's I put on it. She also received a heart transplant that GT sent me in the form of a Holmes Hobbies 16t Puller 400. I cant wait to her back out on the trails. Pics attached(I hope lol)
