Ground up!

It isn't that the Fusion is bad, it just isn't as good. But it may be more of a personal thing.

With my Revolvers and Tenkins there is more feedback and I know what is going on more so. The time between slow crawl and hitting it is different. When you are coming down a steep hill going slow and you are on and off the throttle super lightly it is different. The drag brake is just different for that moment. It just seems to allow a little more roll.

Going slow is great, a steady climb is great but when you are on an off the throttle it is different.

And it is big. It won't fit in to some builds as wheel. I have servo mounted on axles in a couple builds and it not fit in those.


I’ll have to make a bracket extension for the dig if I run the fusion, which I’m not going to do. I have to keep the motor facing to the rear because of that unfortunately. There is just enough room for the battery mount sideways right in front of the 3 gear though. For now I’m going to run the puller pro stubby, the micro x and the direct power HH servo on the axel. I do plan on a motor upgrade later. Any ideas for a deep offset wheel so I don’t rub my shocks and the chassis rails, And any insight on link placement to the chassis? I’ve been studying up but there’s so much information.

Seems like a good motor ESC setup, not sure it needs an upgrade. I do like the full size MambaX (big) or Smaller Copperhead (striped down it is 2 ounces) because they have a better internal BEC (may not be necessary for you) and can run 4s (6S for the MambaX). I just started running 4s with my Resolvers and I like it.

I like SSD wheels because they give you the measurements you need for their wheels on their website. They also sell extended hubs you can use to move your wheels out. You can also use Vanquish hubs with them.

Not sure about about link placement for that Chassis but I usually like the upper rear links higher towards the trans. I think I am finding having my upper links shorter is more stable?

YES…….. so smooth and never seems to stop pulling. I’ve got two PullerPro’s 2700 and 3500. They are incredible motors power wise, and definitely smooth.
Then I dropped a 2200 revolver and was amazed at the difference. Only complaints are from those with tender ears, BUT the new esc solved that.

What about water though. If they get wet are they toast?

It's not so much the water messing things up as it is the grit/grime that might be in the water. If it's crystal clear water, I wouldn't sweat it. If it's diarrhea looking grinding compound, I'd definitely not run an open-can motor in that! Anything in between those 2 will just require a bit of common sense, and maybe a sprinkle of luck. I generally avoid mud, so the worst I've run my Revolver in was wet grass, or in the rain on the rocks (no mud.)

considering how basic and how easy it is to disasemble and clean a outrunner i dont see why it couldent be ran under any condition even soupy mud
even my $3 outrunner has sealed bearing and there real easy to get to and replace if they go bad other than that there isent much that can go wrong with a outrunner i run all mine in loose sand and graval and havent picked up anything in the motor yet
remeber its just as easy for crud to get out as it is for it to get in

i think that brushed motors take more of a beating in the mud and crud than a outrunners
 
They really drive nice. Good slow speed control and quick to get the power out for wheel speed.


So the revolver 540 as team spec is in the rig, but the wires are not labeled or color coded like they are on the esc. How do I figure out which goes where?

The revolver is not sensored. so plug the three wires into any motor plug on the esc, and run it. If it runs in reverse, switch any two wires.

Put the middle one off the motor in the middle of the ESC and plug the other two in either way. You want the green lite on the ESC on for forward and the Red for reverse. If you don't have lights or have different colors you want it faster going forward then reverse.
 
Update. F-bomb is like 90%. Thank you everyone for all your help. I don’t think I could have done it without you. Now I have to add some frame spacers. Take it all apart and loktite everything the do some more trimming on the body and paint it. That battery was just for programming. The 850mah are on the way.

And this is what happens when you run a HH 540 SS revolver with a stock axial spool. Shredded my treal overdrive gears after it sheared the 3 bolts….
