Hi Everyone, I'm just checking in and would like to introduce myself. I've been reading up threads and had watched Scale RC models YT videos for the past year (Note - this introduction is almost a CC of my introduction on another rc scale forum with slight modification).

Here's a little bit of my hobby background, I've started with Tamiya models (tanks and airplanes) when I was much younger and then move on to Tamiya and Kyosho electric road cars. This lead to Kyosho and Yokomo nitro cars. This hobby went to a full stop when I started mountain and road biking at college - also fell in love with hiking, camping and backpacking in California and Utah... oh and yes, met a nice girl and now she's my real "Boss".

Fast forward in late winter or early Spring of 2019, I saw scale models of Toyota FJ, Defender D90, D110, RRC, Hilux, etc. in YT. I couldn't stop watching and reading/researching and was astonished on how realistic they are - full metal axles and chassis, realistic exterior and interior and weathering works, etc. To make a long story short, I wanted out, but they pulled me back in! I'll be the first one to admit that I'm not near the level of work that are here - all I can work on for now are adding accessories, electronic upgrades, aesthetic improvements, but I will plan in the near future (hopefully when I have more time) to build a scale truck from the beginning (perhaps JSScale RRC kit).

Here is my first scale model: Mex Defender D110 - many thanks to Martin at RCModelex for making it happen - Cheers!

Welcome to the site! That's a great looking Defender! Beautiful.

Very nice looking Defender!"thumbsup"

I would say your build level is on the same level or above as some of us here! Great job on the build!

Hope to see more of your builds in the future!:)

Wow, nice D110.

Based on that workmanship, can't wait to see your next project......

Welcome.

Hi Everyone - I appreciate the kind words, but I must say that all the work and due credit should be attributed to Martin of RCModelex. This is a custom project that I have requested - complete chassis and hardbody was completed by Martin. I only added some accessories on top of the rack (and inside), changed out the wheels, added a driver and co-driver and did all the electronics. I made a "Hateful Eight" theme on my tiny scale trucks - here's the one for the MEX D110 - The Bounty Hunter and The Sheriff

The Sheriff was the original driver of the MEX D90...

The Sheriff teamed up with the Bounty Hunter later on
