Gramps Indoor Mini Crawler Course Build

Looking forward to the painted scenery. I'm working on a crawler mountain currently. Gonna try the colored sanded grout for texture and then decide what colors to put down.

Colored grout as paint, started as powder and mixed with water till it was the consistency of paint. Ended up kind of globing it on then spreading it with the brush. I just used a 1" throw away brush.

The shading was done by taking a little of the mix in a separate container and adding a little acrylic black paint and mixing. Put on on spread it out then when it sat a bit I'd go over it with the tan. The yellow I put on a piece of cardboard and just dipped the brush in it and at times mixing with the black. dap it on and brush it out.

Is that plaster cloth pretty durable? I've only ever built a 2x2 and I used Styrofoam coated in a special concrete mix. It's heavy but, its very durable and you can give it nice texture.

Mine has cracked in a few places But I contribute that to the fact that I only used one layer. The pain course is just painted it does wear off in spots. The new frig section is covered with colored grout and I think that it will add strength along with the color.

I don't think the cracks in mine came from running the SCX24's in it as much as me moving them around. It's also pretty easy to patch if something does happen.
