Last thread on good spots seemed to be a couple of years old..

I'm in West Hartford (moved here a few years ago, don't know too much that's around), and I know about RC Madness and their track in Enfield, but are there any good outdoor spots / groups for crawling around the Hartford area? Or any groups that are active? ECRC and the like seem to have dropped off the face of the internet

there is a group on fb called eastern CT RC crawlers and also RC crawler of ct which i think is also a shop in Columbia, ct. Have you explored the state parks to the west of you?

Thanks! I've been searching for groups but I never seemed to get to that one!

I haven't explored any of the parks, I'll have to drag the wife and kids over to a couple and see what's there

ECRC is still around, as is Rock Island .... they mostly use Fbook now though so lost all the attraction RCC could bring them.

Manchester has Case Mountain, nice spot that has plenty to scale around. Theres also Bolton Notch/Ledge right off the end of Rt6 in Manchester/Bolton. Plenty out there to roll around on for scale/trails.

South of you down RT9 into Portland you have Hurd Park (haddam i think it is). Its a gated part but you can drive in and turn up the first road and park at the field.

Farther down RT9 you have Seven Falls park in Higganum - great spot for scale and comp rigs. Plenty of cleared out power lines right there too with LOTs of rocks.

All these spots are Wife and Kid friendly too

Theres plenty of spots in CT roughly an hour or so from you. Unfortanetly not many clubs or members post here anymore. You have to belong to 30 different groups to find information instead of one spot labeled Connecticut lol.

i normally take my older one with me, he loves to drive the trucks around.

That's the worst part. i think i have 3 or 4 plus the one from when i was living in FL.
