After running my Castle setup for a while this weekend, i realized how great the Fusion Pro really is. Quiet, clean wiring, and a drag brake that actually holds. I wish Hobbywing would release a higher kv Fusion Pro. Something in the 2700-2800kv range would be awesome. Maybe if enough of us email them....

Higher KV and it would be cool if they could bring the ibus programming from latest AXE esc to the Fusion. Bluetooth programing is nice but being able to adjust the ESC directly from the radio is even better.

The Fusion is so nice! Not only is the packaging so tidy since the ESC is built into the motor and you don't need any of this wiring, but it is also so smooth and powerful to boot.

I think part of the problem with the Mamba X is that Castle gave up on it. The reason I say that is because the last firmware update was way back on 10/15/18!

Not sure if Castle is having staffing issues or something more, but I emailed tech support about my B-Link. It says it needs an update, but that I can't do it with my phone. Castle said I have to send it in. At this point it is useless which is frustrating! Anyway, there is only one guy in technical support at Castle! That seems insane to me.

I have a Castle 2850 setup which I'm looking to replace with the Fusion Pro ... mamba is too noisy for me ears and miss the drag break of the HW system if am honest (y) Gonna hold off though and tell the wife that what Santy Claus has to get this year 😉

I'd send HW an email for sure lol

I emailed Hobbywing right before I posted this and got a response within a few hours. Said they'd forward it up to their design team.

The noise was noticeable but did not bother me too much. Drag brake was my real gripe. It had been quite a while since I had done any technical crawling with a Castle setup, but I was pretty disappointed that the drag brake would not hold the truck at a complete stop on an incline. Drag brake and brake are at 100%. This was a Copperhead with a 2700kv puller pro stubby. It was on a VRD Carbon with 52/15 gearing. Not a heavy truck. Just for the heck of it I tested my Mamba X/Slate 2850 on my TTC truck and it wont hold that truck either.

I have a Mamba X & Tekin Roc 412 HD in my VS410 Pro. I bought that setup back when the Pro was first released. Last March I decided to pull it off the shelf and take it for a spin. Figured I'd update the firmware beforehand. I was pretty surprised to see that I had the latest version.

The mamba x is great for go fast crawlers. I run one in my bomber and miller. I can't say I've had the same experience with the drag brake not holding. Maybe the higher kv motors I'm running effects that?

I agree a 2800kv fusion would be a welcome addition. 4s on the 2300 would work as well, but cost me more in replacing my batteries. Lol
