I finished the Kubelwagen build. I have to admit that my modeling skills are pretty rudimentary. Th e last plastic model kit I built before this Tamiya kubelwagen was at about age 10 years.

One of my concerns as I was bilding the kubelwagen was that I knew I couldn't glue the top on to the car because I had some body retension clips under the top in the back, and also I needed access to the battery pack. I really lucked out in the issue as I discovered that the top basically snaps into position and has good retension without any glueing at all. So removing the top became the access to the battery - very easy.

Is that the 1/16 tamiya kit?

Right, its the Tamiya 1/16 Kubelwagon Static Model, which is no longer in production. The kits do show up on ebay from time to time. They also made an RC version, but I don't think it was suited to any kind of off-road driving.

The real Kublewagen was not a 4WD vehicle of course, but I wanted to make something that would run well on a tank battlefield.
