Well here we go again. A couple years ago I had started a project f350 crewcab tow rig and midway through interests changed and had no time to finish it. So it ended up getting sold with a bunch of other rc cars. Long story short coming hahaha

Some of you people might remember seeing this build

So here I am 4 years later with more experience and a quality 3d printer. I had just got back into the hobby (like for the 5th time) haha, I picked up a wraith and Tamiya tt02 both for $160. The wraith has a castle mamba x with slate 2800kv motor and I changed some things and printed some stuff, the tt02 is the Mazda 3 body that came with a mst brushless setup. I upgraded some stuff on that. Then I picked up a yeti tt stock with a brand new in package body, then I bought 2 used scx24s and then I picked up a used Randy slawson bomber rtr and then the axial ryft kit went on sale, so I picked that up, built it with some goodies from castle and NSDRC, then I picked up a vanquish phoenix rtr couple weeks after their release. Couple weeks later the scx10ii kit went on sale for $140. So I picked it up also and also purchased a Tamiya f350 body set with plans on building a cool f350 super crawler.. all within a span of 7-8 months. I then picked up my first 3d printer used trading for my bomber for it. Few weeks later I start looking at pics of my old build and I wanted to build another and finish it, this time going more scale then my previous build. I am 3d designing and printing my own parts. I will not be posting any pics tonight 1/18/24 of my new build as of yet. Hopefully in the next couple days... so stay tuned [emoji51][emoji51][emoji51][emoji51][emoji51][emoji51][emoji51][emoji51][emoji51]

Well that seem like you have also gone down the rabit hole at a fast pace. I think most can relate ... the F350 looks great ... looking forward to see more of it.

I've always wanted to do the Tamiya F350 body I've got a 1:1 OBS 7.3PS, I like the wheel and tire combo but some 8 lug wheels would really set this off nicely, did you use the SCX10.2 builders kit for the chassis? Subscribed to this one!!!

There are some 8 lug wheels out there but nothing I really like.

Little update. I'm Waiting for a few pieces to show up to build the cab, as majority of everything I'm designing/printing will work wound the cab. Also tinkering around with designing and printing some axle tubes with integrated leaf spring perches. That will hopefully fit some u bolts(I still need to get). Of If I can't find ubolts that will work I'll make it to where the spring just bolts to the perch. Here's a couple pics

Ya. Regret selling it.. this one will be better..

For sure I'll keep those in mind.

And once im all done with my designs, I might put a package together and sell the parts to build your own
With the possibility of me building the cab and bed and selling that also..

That was a cool looking truck! Looking forward to the new version.

Heck yeah, id love to build one myself. I want to build a scale version of my 84 ford. Started life as a 84 f150 4x4 n its now sittin on a 00 f350 chassis i shortened 20 1/2". The blackfoot body is a bit to short, but i may pick up 2 of them n stretch one a tad

Do you remember the one i semi built a few years ago. This version should be 10 times better as I now have a 3d printer and can design my own parts.

Just got my second body so I can begin building the crew cab. The roof rack I had on my previous one isn't available anymore so I'm trying to find a new rack that will fit correctly. Might also put roof marker lights in to. I have so many ideas on this build I'm hoping to pull off.

Slow progress due to life. But just received a second body and 2 other parts trees. Also working on my scale axle tubes for the ssd pro44 housings... housings will eventually be printed in pla with at least 50% infill. My prototypes have 10% and seem pretty solid.
My axle tubes will have leaf perches either printed on them of glued on. And will use u bolts when I get them

I made both pieces into one part for the axle tubes and printing version 2 right now. I am not adding holes for the tubes to mount to the pumpkin yet until I get a trans and driveshaft. I need so many more parts to complete my printed parts. Hahaha. But it will be one sick rig

The start to the cab. Might shorten the back doors a little bit more.

Got the cab going and fine tuning the edges and waiting for another cab to finish the roof/rear door windows. And got another revision on the rear frame/axle tubes and what not printed and tested. I think just a couple more changes and I'll be happy with it. Also going to integrate bed mounts into the rear frame section and use team KNK 1mm or 2mm spacers for the bed mounts.and to adjust height of rear bumper

Got the cab mounted in 2 parts at the moment. Just checking some measurements on the parts I have printed. Just got to make small adjustments to the cab mounts and rear frame extension. I'm adding bed mounts and using team KNK 2 or 3mm spacers as "mount bushings" the spacers are slightly recessed in the mounts and a m3 nut on the bottom side the integrated as well. Only have rear bed mounts at the moment until I figure out how I wanna make front mounts. Also the blue exhaust stack is mounted to the bed
