Updates!
I tore down the cab to start my repairs and beefed up bracing. I started off buy using my 8+ year old bottle of Chameleon plastic safe stripper HERE I didn't want to sand on the body anymore then I already have because some of the body lines are starting to get soft and I really don't feel like trying to build them up and bring them back.

While I wait for the Stripper to do it's thing I think I'll try out my motor lathe, seeing as the integy 45t was all but new, and you could here the brushes slapping on the comm. so I figured it would be a great candidate"thumbsup"

Enough of that, back to the body. paints stripped after one coat. I might Go for a second and get it 100% bare but it's enough to get the body welded back together and start reinforcing.

What do you use to bond the styrene and the cab plastic together? I have a New bright jeep Im going to cut up and make a truggy out of it.I need something to bond the styrene and the stock plastic together any sugestions. Great job on the truck it kicks a$$. I've always loved the xtra cab yotas, I've had my share of 1:1's."thumbsup"

I can tell you from first hand experience that styrene welders like tenax or testors doesn't bond to any other plastics, I've heard that plastruct plastiweld will bond most plastics to another and is most likely what you need for the Newbright bodies

Got some of the body work done, got the body all welded back together, added some bracing and some styrene filler, I used bondo before, this should help add some strength, then reinforced behind the cab and the cab back"thumbsup" I knocked out both of the rear windows and decided to fill them in with styrene, adding strength and fitting better then the clear windows I had in before. I will paint the rear windows black and say they are limo tinted:mrgreen:

Got inner fenders?

I figured since I have the body off to do repair work might as well whip up some inner fenders"thumbsup"

I used an old CD-R case that I cut in half and trimmed to fit the chassis and body. I saw another member here do similar and that got me rolling. on to the Pics

If you have the New Bright JK ill tell you that styrene CA works like Elmers glue on the JK's plastic. Get something else or plastic weld it.

yeah, its a pita, but it took a nasty hit to get to this. if you can get to it and reinforce it now I would, and hopefully thats all you'll need to do"thumbsup"

Got the body work all done, and painted up,I got the Inner fenders Buttoned Up and painted flat black, and I think to myself, whats a little body work without some Primer so I hit a few spots with a bit of gray primer"thumbsup"

I also got a package from Team3Six (Norm), a wicked Power tank and Fire extinguisher, and got them mounted to the bed"thumbsup" These things are sick.

So I learned that with the inner fenders, It's a royal PITA to plug the battery in. I have to take the body off everytime. Oh well the price of scale goodness :lmao:
I added up my scale points for street class and it breaks down as follows

Hard body cab -5
rear leafs -2
functional spare -3
working winch -3
led's galore -2
front/rear bumpers plastic -2
major features plastic tube bed -1
minor features sliders -1
CMS kit -5
scale tools/accessories -2
fuel cell -1

for a grand total -27 If I did my math right"thumbsup" I'm sure I could slap on some other junk to clear the last 3 points, but why?
