UPDATE: 5/8/20 I added a second version that works with the IFS conversion.

I just posted up the STL files for the lowered battery tray I designed, free to download. Its the shorty version, I asked if folks wanted the long version too but didn't hear a peep.

Copied from my build thread:

The battery tray finished printing this morning. I wonder what folks might want different?

Maybe a long version too for those running larger packs.
Let me know if you guys have any input.

You can see the triangular channel for passing wires over to the other side (which has a lid that screws on) and below it a shelf for a BEC (CC 10 amp version)
I also put a few holes near the ends of the tray that you could zip tie things to.

It came out good except the lid I made for the wire channel was too thin, tried to make it light but it needs more structure to it.

15 minutes later and I had a thicker lid with 1 extra millimeter of headroom.

Its a little bit tidier now

Great job on the battery tray!"thumbsup"

Thanks for making these available.;-)

My pleasure guys. I didn't see anyone else hack up the stock tray like I did originally so I figured this would make it much more accessible and acceptable.

I should also note that these wont work with the inner fenders. Though maybe it could be modified to, I think maybe if the ends had just the bottom portions removed while leaving just a bit (to keep the battery from sliding out) it may just clear. I just dont have a stock setup to test with anymore, my slider/trays are angled upwards a fair bit. I also have a feeling even if I did that the battery itself might interfere.

Oh and dont forget to flip the crossmember that the tray mounts to when you mount the new tray

I just picked up an IFS kit and found this design needed a little tweaking to make work. First I modified the old version and then I modeled the modifications. I basically had to remove the slot for the battery strap and put a notch in the tray to clear the servo.

even with the notch in the tray the battery hasn't lost any space, shown with a hardpack battery.

I just spotted a user on here who's selling a few of these battery trays and I just want to remind folks that I have not given commercial rights to these designs. I've done the work to design these and I want them to get into folks hands so I've shared the design for free so folks can print their own. What I dont want is folks selling and profiting off my designs, sell it at cost if you must but dont profit.

Yep, a big part of why I no longer share files... It's unfortunate a few bad apples have to ruin it for others...

That's not cool. Is someone mass printing and selling them?

No fortunately it doesnt look to have been done in the name of making money, I think they just printed a few too many.

I contacted him and he said he'll remove the for sale post.
