Dvd burner--ever had the write portion crap out?

So I was getting ready to start burning dvd's for this season comps. But the damn burner crapped out but the dvd portion still works. Anybody ever had this happen?

I don't want to be a jerk but DVD burners are like $20

Also yes, I've had burners crap out and not write but are still able to read discs.

they have a separate write and read eye.

I have already checjed replace prices on the unit--cheap. I was just unsure if there were 2 seperate eyes.. "thumbsup"
